US is developing a new Stinger missile which will have considerably higher range and altitude compared to the standard FIM92 missile.
The new version will be powered by a solid fuelled Ramjet motor. It will have a booster section that will be discarded once the supersonic speed is achieved. Then the front of the missile will will give way to a port to allow airflow. By not having to store an oxidiser in the solid fuel tank, as this is supplied by the air the ramjet engine will breathe, more fuel will be available to increase speed and range.
By gaining thrust till the last second until impact, the missile will be deadlier and faster.

As a man pad, this new missile will be a game changer in terms of a short range air defence carried by individual soldiers.

Imo that looks like you will need at least two person to use it. It looks bigger than current Stinger and it will be heavier.

Dozens of M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Stryker armored personnel carriers, and M109 Paladin self-propelled guns have arrived in Washington to participate in the parade marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. The military parade will take place on June 14. More than nine thousand servicemen will come from all over the country to attend the celebrations. About seven thousand of them will take part in the parade itself.
