A dual-use airport for both civilian and military purposes, covering 1,248 hectares, with one runway capable of accommodating Su-30MK2,C-130, C-295/212 aircraft, is currently under study for development on Thổ Chu Island. The airport will help promote tourism while also ensuring security for the southwestern maritime area of Vietnam.
