Wrong, look at China's allies and you'll see lists of failed country, a type of country that China could readily and happily exploit.

Some of the countries that are USA include some right hellholes. Take large parts of narco-states in Central America that were often ruled by US supported dictators. These countrries have endemic corruption, drug economies and murder rates that would make Hannibal Lecter blush.

@beijingwalker This is the way to address a stabilizing population. USA and UK just import third world labour to drive their taxis, trucks and cleaners. If you land at Heathrow Airport all the cleaners are Indians and most of the taxi drivers are Pakistani's.

Those who croak on about "greying population" think only the West can import gastarbeiter. My local hospital is full of imported Filipino/Indonesian nurses and porters.

yet, they prosper. look at Mexico, it has +$1T GDP,it has industries coming from the US notably automobiles and as for the narcos, the US sent their DEA trying to defeat the narcos and thereby help these countries .

Seriously what has China contribute to the security and prosperity of it's so called "allies". Name me one, just one successful Chinese alies.

The US only become a relative economic juggernaut right after WW2, basically while others are destroyed and broke, the US economy skyrocketed, it did not take them long to bring Europe and Japan back on its own foot. Think about the Marshall plan.

in just a short span after the war, former enemies like Germany and Japan would later flood the US market with their goods. Something that China can't seem to emulate with its so called allies.

That is not predatory. That is harsh economic reality. Purely from economic POV nobody would even invest one dime in Gwadar. Only the Chinese came along to make this a reality. They can have 99% of nothing because thus far and for at least another decade the returns are going to be negligble. It will take off after decades of sustained investment and risk taking.
