If they sell, we should buy 2 sqdrons. If they dont sell, invest that money into current Turkish fighter programs. The F-4 tho have to be replaced.

Would be a nice addition to the Fleet.

4-Eurofighter-Typhoon-Full-Load__MADER-1024x628.jpg

4 Meteor, 2 AMRAAM, 6 Brimstone, 2 Paveway, 2 Fueltanks. Imagine saying no to this. Carries as much firepower as three of our F-16s.

T4 Eurofighter with new AESA Radar + Meteor + Intergration of Turkish Missiles and Bombs and they have a deal. Bonus would be collaboration of EW Variant so TurAF can have a dedicated Fighter for EW.

Don't get me wrong if I had the choice I would go F-15EX all the way but the Eurofighter is a good jet that will elevate our capabilities and deepen our cooperation with the Brits. Its the only other choice for the Air Force to fill the gap until the mid 30s if there is truly no way to get the F-35 or F-15EX from the Americans.

Brits would allow to sell while Germans refraining.
Hadi inş cnm ya
France and Greece have nothing to do with the Eurofighter.
The only thing germany could do is to cut spare parts and components it produces especially iris t missiles but would not veto the sale of ef 2000 since its not the leading country in the eurofighter program

In best scenario, The first TF-X will join into inventory around 2030 and after this period, The fighter will evolve to a real 5th generation fighter and the quantity of Tf-X will increase step by step so the game changer features of Tf-X will be gained when Tf-X reach full combat mission features so TurAF may require a stop-gap solution until Tf-X enter into the game. We will wait and see.

Are anybody think abot this as realistic option? For God sake Germans did not give you tank motors and you expect approval for this kind of strategic machine. Go for jf17 as replacememt for f4 as that dire need. It is good and cheap platform which coul be adapted for CAS without to much troubles.

Wasn't there an offer made by the Brits and Italians in 2010 or so, for full membership of Turkey in the Typhoon program and 50 Typhoons for $4 billion Euro's?

Have people forgotten the two Typhoons visiting Konya recently and training with TurAF?

Indeed, Turkey needs a stopgap fighter until there is enough TF-X in the inventory. That could take another 14 years from now on. According to a team of simulator developers of which a Typhoon test pilot is a member of, the Typhoon is able to pull 9G with drop tanks. And its high altitude capability and overall maneuverability and kinematics is superior to that of the Rafale.

The supply chain is distributed among the consortium members. Germany, Italy or Spain can refuse to supply critical components for Turkey.

As far as I remember, Spain, Germany and Italy were the three countries which refused arm embargo to Turkey.

as we know, Britton wants to purchase TB2 drones from turkey.. what if we sell them TB2 and instead we receive Eurofighter? also, as there would be no f404 engine, Turkey can use EJ200 engine on Hurjet, at the same time purchase Eurofighter, so using the same engine for both would work perfect for Turkey, also it might pay secret money to do some TOT on engine parts.. UK, Italy, Spain and even recently Germany(even if Germany refuse, UK still can finalize the sales) are on Turkish side. these countries work together in Libya, in Qatar, in Azerbaijan, even want to work together to bring gas from Turkish countries to EU, as since last year Chine stop 50% of their gas supply and they are actively looking for new market.. and ready to spend money for that.. its totally win win situation..
on the other hand, if Turkey spent 2.5$ billion on s400, why not to spend the same amount on Eufighter, especially when those jets will take 3-4 years and the money will be divided..

The Germans didn't sell us tank engines. In fact, when Tümosan received technical support from the Austrian AVL for the tank engine, the Germans prevented this.
Today, they are about to buy one of the companies that designed the Eurofighter fighter jet. That's why I wouldn't have trusted Germans much if it were me. You never know what they will do.
