Why are you all surprised? I did write a couple pages back a little anecdote from South Africa 2010 World Cup, a few pages back.

This is just my opinion but I feel that the Egypt vs Argentina match was way too rigged. They didn't even bother to hide their favoritism by this point

Egypt had one of its goals removed and should have had a penalty but the referee refused to use the VAR when Mohammad Salah asked for a review yet they were as quick as lightning to use VAR when Argentina asked for it

By this point, if they want Messi to win, they should just give him the trophy and be over with it

I've not watched any Argentina games, but it seems every game they play there is controversy and scandal that paints the picture that the games are being fixed for them.

Probably they are being set up to win again. Its also interesting that Argentina is one of the most pro-zionist states on earth too.

irrespective of this incident ive always felt the tournaments were always set up to make sure the big teams win. Basically their given just enough favour that an outsider will not make it past them on they day. And the main reason for this is that in general the bigger teams are worth more revenue. For example Turkiye vs brazil in the 2002 world cup, there is more money on brazil being in the tournament, then Turkiye.

Or if england were to play algeria for example, or even Turkiye, that fifa, uefa would prefer England to make it threw seeing them as being worth more money in terms of viewership. Because at the end of the day, football is all about money.
