ARMA is ugly, little design change, hides its shame in clothes.
PARS IV has changed even less despite 15 years difference from the 1st iteration and with 30mm turret without hunter-killer and APS it ranks even lower than ARMA. It has a huge wide horizontal weakspot at the front.
The Altug has smaller weakspot and the ARMA the least frontal weakspot.
Altug is new and innovative. Indigenous engine and Korhan turret makes it the best.

8x8 is won by BMC.

6x6 BMC has nothing, Otokar has ARMA 6x6 and FNSS has a lot of 6x6. FNSS is winner. FNSS is already winner in specialized 6x6.

Tracked APC and IFV, BMC has nothing, Otokar has Tulpar and Tulpar-S and FNSS has Kaplan-20/30/NG.

Again FNSS is winner here. But depending how long the acquisition process will take, BMC can design 6x6 and tracked platform too.

A lot of countries wish to produce half the "shit" from BMC and OTOKAR!
We should be thankful for the competition.
Again, I dont hate BMC tbh!
If you did read my previous posts on the Altay forum, I was one of the few who was supporting BMC
In fact, I do realise that BMC produces top notch vehicles and I also realise that many countries wish to produce such vehicles. In fact, many European and Asian countries cant do what BMC, OTOKAR, or FNSS does
However, as they compete with top notch companies like OTOKAR and FNSS. I did expect to see more from BMC and OTOKAR tbh. I raised my expectations way too high and I feel that the only company which did fulfill it is FNSS
They may be superior in terms of specs; but we still know nothing about their details; still waiting for the lovely forum members who attended the fair to provide us with the details

Pars will use Tumosan's engine
Altug will use BMC Power's engine
Otokar should plan to acquire something from EcoTorq which owns the IP rights

Notes:

-KAPLAN NG-AFV is a modular vehicle, designed with possible integration options for manned and unmanned turret systems, with light and medium calibres as well as 120mm gun systems.

-KAPLAN NG-AFV also offers an active protection system option against antitank missiles.
Old or new look, Kaplan is the sexiest looking AFV IMO!

Question: As makers of the new systems are domestic would it still be a logistical problem if a more diversified selection of systems is procured. I would buy the big chunk of the arsenal from highly domestic makers but still buy say 30% from lesser domestic but highly specialized makers, like boutique purchases?

Too childish .. producing such vehicles with cut edges technology is not a shit ..producing an 600hp engine and qualify it is no a shit ... Hundreds of qualified engineers and staff worked for years on them .. all of them are not bad regarding the design and the differences are not big .so the performance is more important ..thanks god they dont let the fans decide the purchases
I still dont understand how are we comparing the beautiful PARS IV 8x8 against shit things from BMC and OTOKAR. Disappointed in them tbh and excellent job from FNSS. I swear i will cry if Erdo didnt order the new PARS

Tulpar is better than Kaplan-NG. TBH comparing them is no good. Tulpar is a heavy IFV Kaplan is sexy probably performs good but it is on the lighter side. Above all else, Altay and Tulpar share many things in common and are designed to operate together by the same company.

BMC altug has a really narrow field of vision
Not to mention that the armour on the front seems way too less than it should be

IDEF 2021: Koluman showcases Derman armored logistic support truck and tank transporter

Turkish manufacturer and dealer Koluman Otomotiv Endüstri based in Tarsus displays, among other items, two 8x8 trucks fitted with an armored cab: a Derman logistic support truck and a tank transporter.

Koluman has been investing according to its customer's requirements and offering solutions since 1965. The company, which is partnering with Mercedes-Benz Turk and is one of the main dealers in Turkey, carries out the design, production and integration processes of all military and civilian projects. The company continues its research and development activities by closely following the latest technology wih its new investments, so reducing external dependence. Koluman aims at increasing the « made in Turkey » in its products.

In the field of military projects, Koluman has signed important works such as shelterization, transportation, loading, maintenance and repair vehicles and special systems, and finally launched the 8x8 armored logistics support vehicles with Derman trademark.

The Derman logistic truck’s and tank transporter’s armored cab can accommodate up to 5 people, including the driver. The protection level of the cab is undisclosed but matches NATO STANAG standards. Ballistic tests were performed through cab cross-section including welded panel joints. A spall liner is fitted behind the cab structure to retain fragments and limit behind-armor effects.

Among the performances listed by Koluman, let us mention the ability to pass a 60% gradient, a 30% side slope, a 1400mm trench and a 400mm vertical obstacle. It can also pass a 750-1,000mm ford without preparation.

Several options in the engine and other technical components are available.

To facilitate the international marketing activity, Koluman, is glad to insist on the fact that its trucks are already in service with the Turkish army, including in operations.

The company that produces the 600 HP engine isnt BMC itself but BMC power and it gains a 100/100 in their work
Iam talking about the design of the Altug

Korhan Turret is owned by Aselsan and if you pay and buy it from Aselsan you can put it on any of the 3 vehicles.

If anyone may explain why on earth is ROKETSAN developing IR heads when ASELSAN is doing the damn job perfectly?
Quite simply ... branching off important projects against possible targeting attempts, examples of which had been put into practice in the past. Swim in sponge!!

Having watched the mobility tests with the indigenous powerpack and drivetrain, it is actually very impressive and not at all what some people wish it to be.

The only issue is, while Pars and Arma have gone through many changes over the course of their development and time cycles being used and bettered. BMC has not had that time.

This has to be my favourite so far. Imagine the type of support this could provide in future operations.

Stationing a few of these on the outskirts of a battle zone, keeping watch of roads, essentially no incoming convoy would survive.

Our enemies will for the first time, face a serious unmanned threat on the ground.
