The Egyptian Space Agency is an Egyptian public economic authority established in August 2019, with a legal personality and affiliated with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Established by the Law No. 3 of 2018 which aims to create, transfer space technology development, localization and own self-capabilities to build & launch satellites from Egyptian territory. In 2019, The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi announced the appointment of Dr. Mohamed ElKoosy as the CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project aims at developing the first Egyptian satellite that is locally developed by Egyptian universities students guided by Egyptian space experts of EgSA. The developed satellite will be a pico-satellite in the form of 1U CubeSat. The system design, integration, testing, launching, and operation will be performed by EgSA experts, while the satellite subsystems development, the prototype manufacturing will be performed by students as their graduation projects under supervision from their university supervisors and EgSA experts, then the rest of the developing phases are performed by EgSA specialists.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The satellite project is funded by the Academy for scientific research and technology ASRT- Egypt. The CubeSat is developed and manufactured in Egypt; only solar panels we bought from GOMSPACE.
NARSScube-1 has a small camera to capture images for Egypt, and a lifetime around 3 months; it is operating at UHF and has 6 batteries.
The satellite deployed in orbit in November 2019 by JAXA-H2B and still in operation.

MISRSAT-2 SATELLITE

ABOUT THE PROJECT
MisrSat-2 is not a commercial project, but it is implemented through a grant from the Chinese government to support Egyptian space ambitions.
The project objects are, first, to obtain an in-orbit optical high-resolution satellite in the visible light spectrum for civilian application, second, to participate (hands-on work with the supervision of contractor team while on job training is provided) in the project full lifecycle, and third, to confirm our space-proven capabilities and functionalities in the real operational environment with experimenting Egyptian developed devices as auxiliary payloads for MisrSat-2.
The satellite Payload is a High-Resolution Camera with Resolution of Panchromatic: 2m and Multispectral: 8m with Swath of 33km. the satellite Platform is CAST100 of Mass ≤350kg, Lifetime of 5years, and Reliability of 0.62 @EOL.

The GS supports MisrSat-2 for mission planning, remote sensing data receiving, producing of levels 0-2 standard image products, data storage managing, and typical application system.

THE FIRST EXPERIMENTAL SATELLITE NEXSAT-1

NExSat 1 is an experimental earth observation satellite built by the National Authorithy of Space Sciences (NARSS) in Egypt in collaboration with Berlin Space Technologies (BST).

NExSat-1 is the first of a series of experimental satellites that will enable NARSS to fly and test new technologies. The satellite that is built in collaboration with Berlin Space Technologies is a micro satelite of 65 kg that carries two medium resolution cameras of 7.5 m GSD from a 700 km orbit. The responsibility for the system design of the satellite as well as the final assembly is in the hands of NARSS.

The imaging payload consists of two cameras, which have a resolution of 7.5 m and a joint swath of 30 km. They will both be used for environmental monitoring.

Berlin Space Technologies won the contract to provide sub-systems and services to support this program. Since NARSS has full system responsibility and will integrate the satellite in their own labs while BST acts as a consultant only.

Currently manufacturing of subsystems is underway. The launch of the satellite is planned for mid 2019.

The Egyptian Space Agency: We are studying the establishment of a missile base for launching satellites

The Egyptian Space Agency reveals to Echo Al-Balad a study to manufacture a vehicle to explore the Moon

Mohamed El-Qousi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, revealed the upcoming projects for the Egyptian Space Agency, explaining that the agency is working in several directions such as spreading space culture in society, producing satellites , cooperating with universities in making satellites, and exploring space by launching such so-called Hope probe .





He added that Egypt is moving according to the global trend of 2030, which is the direction of returning to the moon with the aim of further exploration for it, as a spacecraft project has been launched to land on the moon and explore some samples and measure some measurements, which is a huge project aimed at exploring space.



"Last February, Sir Martin Sweeting, the inventor of small satellites in 1980 who received the title of Sir, has a stature from the Queen
He explained that: "During his visit, we talked about how to cooperate and some instructions, and then agreed to work on producing parts of satellite parts and directing them to England to benefit from it and try it, because the Egyptian product manufactured for the space component is less expensive," indicating that after the visits were interrupted due to Corona Communication with Sir Martin Sweeting was back again to meet via video conference.

Claimed accuracy is 10 meters in spectral which is quite low but it is quite a small camera, and may still be useful for the experimental satellite series which only weight 50-60 kilograms.

ther is no difference with Iranian full hd cam send to space if you call this subsystems. Looks a telescope...

Huh, this camera looks exactly like comparable systems from Europe and Korea. It is for inexpensive camera for small sat. It doesnt need to look like the hubble telescope.

What purpose are you making subsystems? What do you want to look from space, with that thing not much.
They have a 1 meter camera but it is too big, they need a small one for smaller platforms. Its not that difficult, 10 meter resolution is good enough for observing changes in environment and mapping. It is like asking why do you want a car when you have a truck, they serve different purposes and complement eachother.

10 meter on the right is not that bad actually for mapping cities and observing deserts. The whole staellite is only 120 kg you can't put a much better camera while considering power, and weight limitations.

They have been doing this for a while I think haha since 2009. They didn't get same large funding until establishment of space agency until 2019. They are actually going to be handholding the African space agency soon as well.

Time will show us whether this will happen. In fact, instead of purchasing billions of dollars in weapons, Egypt can focus on its own systems. Turkey is currently doing this. Paying billions of dollars and buy a FREMM? Forget it, get it a little late but build your own ship. Integrate your own weapon systems. If I was an Egyptian or a citizen of Arabia, I would react a lot to these purchases. I would say why do i buy it from someone else?
If Erdogan said we would buy FREMM , believe that the Turks would be very angry. Any system that I did not produce is not under my control.

It is more complicated than that, Turkey has better education and engineers and access to technology unavailable to non-NATO countries. and especially not Muslim, Arab nations. Honestly, most likely the industry will not develop sadly, but maybe not.
