That's right, it's for Turkiye, all is made for the benefit of the Turkish people.
But some ppl does not want to be one and united and have to diss developments as propaganda obviously.
Needless to say that much of the RnD's what this forum is talking about happened in last 15 years and how important
it is for a country like Turkiye. This "insignificant additional find" to previous reserve is 20 billion dollars if you import it instead.

It's three things one can do:
Acknowledge and be happy on behalf of Turkey regardless who it is or who you like or not
Don't say anything, let it pass because you don't like the person or political view
Criticize developments anyway, because you hate the person or political view

Why don't you elaborate on what that pressing matter is and how that matter is not addressed accordingly. You must be one of those who think one matter here and there should lock up the country and make it unable to move. So miserable.
Does it not occur to you that the Turkish President is on location to support the efforts of the drilling teams and show the world that Turkey will be drilling full steam. Even the opposition leader is aware of that.

I saw somewhere today that 20bn cubic meter yearly extraction capacity and 20 year run-time is the reasonable exploitation policy is for the Tuna-1 find. Given that the whole reserve is extractable it gives 45% of Turkey's 45bn cbm yearly consumption for 20 years.

Apart from finding gas in large reserves there is also the shale gas and methane hydrates that can be exploited going forward.

Unfounded guesses. He who is paying the money considers the most about the cost. The ship has already finished the work there and needs to be prepared for the next assignment. Just the same as the other ships that wait at anchor from time to time. There is gains to be made from every move and political gain from this last find is negligible as it is relatively minor but geopolitical intent is more relevant.

It's nice to see that the findings going on in the black sea but in my opinion it wasn't necessary to make a show out of it. They raised my expectations, so I thought they would at least announce a finding like the last one or even more but it was just a fraction.

There is an ongoing elevated bickering in the sea regions around Turkey. Every opportunity to announce your standing counts towards your goal in other areas as well. East Mediterranean explorations are also related to a Black Sea explorations as you get to move ships from region to region and you declare your intent along the way. The feelings most people feel occur to other people as well like the leaked high numbers for the amount of the new find raising expectations but that's OK. It does cause disappointment when the announced numbers are below the hinted expectation but it also works towards shaping up further moves. There is a good reason why there is a show. Consider also the lessened international travels due to pandemic and political stand off and see the opportunity to send your message from your position.

Apparently you don't know how tight the security clearance when Erdogan visits, especially amid COVID, how many people goes along with him, goes tested twice or three times, how long the preparations take prior to his visit and how many times they run a questionnaire on personnel of the places he is going to visit. Solely set up of the place he has talked took a day.
These are not "guesses" ,but the facts.
These kind of ships have high daily-running cost and the personnel lives with a schedule, you can not delay their schedule for sake of a show. If this kind of a ship awaits anchored - even during operation they are in a "fixed position": it either runs on maintenance or does something regarding to the machinery or operation planning.
And how did his speech and show on the ship helped the drilling or research progress? not even neutral, but negatively for the reason i mentioned above.

They removed those, because they cost the tax payer 12m Lira per year to keep them. You might remember that the government is cutting a lot of the revenue streams of Istanbul, so they have to cut expenses.

But thats it for politics from me. But my statement stands, that was way to much PR stunt for such a small finding.

This can be done on the land as well, one does not need to land on a ship to make such an announcement. He could instead have a video call with crew, captain or chief engineer. World -professionals- literally laughs at this kind of shows and not impressed by these.

We might say , yes i do. But it doesn't change the fact that such a visit obviously results in waste of time. Yes the ship has idle time but during those, the crew also goes on vacation or maintains-repairs the machinery as i told before.
After all the ship has been drilling throughout the week and probably needs to continue the operation before weather goes bad, in this situation a few days matter to finish the given tasks.
