We had/have the greatest advantage of any majority Muslim country, and that was/is secularism. If we go back a few decades, I would say our soft power was greater than it is now. We were praised for being modern and secular. All these TV shows are good for nothing, and TRT World has turned into garbage lately. We saw what our TV shows have done with all the Pakistanis entering the nation.

Just to be clear, a lot of the Muslim world had followed our model. Including Afghanistan and Iran. These countries copied us. But it didn't last. Islamism had the last laugh.

Our government's obsession with the Muslim world is turning the country into a dumping ground. And don't speak of sticking the middle finger to the Europeans, when Erdoğan is keeping millions of refugees because Europe wants us to.

Foreign policy in KKTC is a disaster. Literally pushing the Turks of the Island into the EUs laps. KKTC has long been a bastion of Turkish nationalism. But there is a rising amount of liberals because AKP is filling it with refugees and building mosques. No one wants either.

This government just wants to see the Turkic world burn while filling up their pockets and destroying our demographics. I've heard that central Asian Turkic countries are getting cautious because AKP is trying to Islamise them. Very dumb move. You know Pakistan tried that in the 90s? It made the central Asian Turk countries cut ties with Pakistan.

Orthodox Christians destroyed a lot of our history in the Balkans and Central Asia.

During thr Bosnian war the Serbs and Croats destroyed any kind of kind of Ottoman history that they can get their hands on.

While the Greeks turned a Ottoman mosque into a porno theater.

For someone who lives in England that was a dumb move. You basically made it easy for greeks and armenians as well as kurds to demonise Turks further to the English.

The best thing to have done was reopen it as a orthodox church. Positive press, increased tourism revenues, while Muslims are seen as less fanatical and intolerant.

Changing it to mosque benefited erdogans domestic image, but little else.

I'm not arguing with you people about how these nations behave, they behave as hostile enemies, but we cannot keep falling into their traps, we have to be smarter, wiser then them.

As for the west losing its dominance, yes the world is opening up but as it stands and it will stand for at least another hundred years the west will be the side that matters. The Russians fooled themselves into thinking the west was weak and backward, as a result they ended with the Ukrainian disaster and they are not even fighting a NATO nation.
