The difference in thickness may affect the barrel's longevity but as long as the rifling is in good condition and the barrel is not bent, it can still shoot accurately.

But yeah, that picture really says a lot about "Russian workmanship" especially if it's really a mass-produced BMP-3's cannon.

As long as the breech/chamber alignment is fine, it should fire ok....maybe with some correction.

Sounds on point for Soviet weapon doctrine. Cheap, won't last long & easy to produce.

This is only "sustainable" if the country in question 1. Can produce these weapons on their own, 2. Able to do it on a mass scale very quickly.

But for other countries that simply import them, that will be a very poor choice, weapons that are easily destroyed but hard to replace. Therefore it is better to buy quality products that could punch above their weight and could last long, that is products made by major western countries.
