12-18 is enough to fill a squadron. The 14th squadron will soon have its own fighter fleet instead of borrowing from other squadron.

Even an addition of a squadron worth of jets is enough to put us on the 2nd place in at least ASEAN airpower rank.

Singapore is on a league of its own. I prefer we be at least no.1 in ASEAN minus SG (I will be good if we beat them but I'm being realistic here). Thailand is 2nd best currently in ASEAN level air force.

Told ya , so far the Rafale program is still looking good. They may break the contract down into smaller quantity each fiscal year but the aim for the total amount havent changed. The eagle is the one yang "hilalnya" belum keliatan. If the economic in 2023 is running smooth, we should see major contract happening next year. By that time we might see if our AU going to get their heavy fighter toys.

Tho I am curious to know about our Hawk program, it is still not clear what we are going to do with them...

No, it's not ALQ-200K. The lineage of EW technologies continues on from ALQ-200K but the overall system requirements are very different between the ALQ-200K and KF-21 ES suite.

Aparently the KF-21 EW suite has considerably higher jamming power and operating bandwidth compared to other 4th and 4.5th gen fighter onboard and podded SPJs (they know the details about F-16 and F-15 since they operate them and have been provided information regarding the European fighters since they were part of ROKAF F-X program), as required by ROKAF. Why they've placed such requirement, I don't know.
