As much as I respect Azerbaijan and its ppl, we should accept that Azeri's govt model isnt healthy at all; the only true reason Azerbaijan is winning is because their leader is patriotic. However, what makes you so sure that the son of current Azeri president will be as patriotic or maybe even incredibly corrupt? You do realise that his vice president is his own wife right?

The azeri govt should learn from the Turkish govt mistakes and correct moves. They should follow the Turkish govt model and create an Azeri defence industry to protect their own interests and create plans not to depend on one foreign nation for everything other wose they will be embargoed just like with the Altay project

That's a blatant misunderstanding of what makes our nation have a smarter foreign policy. Even without energy independence (which isn't 100%), we have been able to balance competing interests much better than Turkey.

That's a blatant misunderstanding of what makes our nation have a smarter foreign policy. Even without energy independence (which isn't 100%), we have been able to balance competing interests much better than Turkey.

If there is one thing i like about Aliyev he understands the geopolitical game and plays it according to regional realities. Aliyev is a shrewd leader who is very calculated in what he does and what he says. He's a much better statesman then Erdogan in that regard, much better. Personally i would hope that Aliyev gives Erdogan guidance in the background.

I sometimes wonder where Turkey would be today if erdogan had his qualities when it comes to foreign policy. For one we wouldnt have destroyed relations for no profit and i suspect we would have never fell into the syria trap.
