This doesn't make sense in many ways, but anyway. At least design a proper FAC or OPV - Corvette before a heavy frigate, can't they?

How are they determining VLS length before acquiring greenlight from the OEM?
How OEM can give a greenlight without knowing the radar suite?

the current leader of PT PAL actually renown ship designer and already has designing ships company (PT Terafulk), but most of his ship design actually come from civillian use background (like Bulk cargo, oiler, Roro, and so on).

But nonetheless, there is big chance they would use original AH140 design

Talking about ugly, the PAL designed AH140 is Imho, the ugliest modern (upcoming) surface combatants there is. It just doesn't seems right trying to force a Sigma-esque design to an Iver Huidtfeldt/Arrownhead.


I hope it's final spec compensate for its ugliness .

Far from ugly imo, in fact, it is pretty sleek. 'Ugly' in my opinion is probably closer to the kind of Arleigh Burke with its old-styled AEGIS antennas. Look wise I prefer the Damen Omega class, but AH140 has better specs on paper.

Some people complained about its ugliness, but I am far more concerned with its' air defense.

We cannot repeat the KRI Macan Tutul incident again, slaps some AAW weapons there.

Older KCR has an interesting armament choice, using CIWS as the main gun. I think a good KCR design may fit 35mm as the main gun and slaps some Mistral at the sides.

There is several class in my mind, one Tuo Chiang class, Hamina class, Roussen class, Saar 4,5 class, and Ambassador MK 3 class

Tuo chiang is overkill, 1 phalanx, 16 AShM, 32 short to medium SAM, 1 76mm naval gun.
