Istanbul mayor jailed for 2 years and barred from politics for ‘insulting’ officials

Shamefull
I cant believe this is happening
The mistake is sooo dumb that I still cant comprehend how crazy must the AKP be to actually do something like this
I swear, at this point, I wont be surprised if this was intentionally done in order to empower the CHP by agents within the AKP itself .

This mistake is just soooo stupid that I seriously just cant comprehend how it was allowed. Hell, those opposition leaders are insulting Erdogan every day and he gets jailed for insulting some electoral officials? Insane

So you are acknowledging that this was done intentionally. Calling someone or something a “fool” is considered a crime with a punishment of almost 3 years? I have been reading your comments for some time now. The amount of insults you have committed towards KK and CHP you would get a life w/o parole According to the Turkish justice system 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly
That is why Iam saying this is insane

What sort of drugs were the AKP taking when such a verdict was taking place? Kilicdaroglu insults Erdogan, the president of the country, 24/7 and he normally just get slapped with a fine but when Imamoglu insults some electoral officials he gets jailed and a political ban? This is crazy! Something is fqing wrong here.... that is why I said I wouldnt be surprised if it was an intentional job by some agent since the level of cope is just way too astronomical

Hell @Crush716 , I would be executed due to my statements about CHP and KK if this shit was the norm not only jailed😅😂

It's hard to believe but this whole thing just seems like a mistake by AKP, just like in the 2019 Istanbul election re-run.

Let's not forget that most of the smart men in AKP left the party years ago. Now what remains are different groups fighting for power from within.

This isn't the same AKP which led an economic boom.

I dont know man
This seems way too crazy for it to be a mistake

As I said before, Erdogan is already being insulted 24/7 by all opposition blocs ever since the inflation wave and yet nothing happened to them; however, when Imamoglu insults some electoral officials, he gets jailed? This is crazy

Although, at the end, You may be right about it being a mistake but for them to make such a GRAVE mistake, they must have been smoking some high quality weed mate😅

political islam always takes you down the road of dictatorship and once you get it, liberties and freedoms are incrementally chipped away from the common person who helped it come into power.
Yep, seen it in Iran during all those decades, now they are at a point where the MP's vote for the execution of 12000 people simply for demanding basic human rights.
Give AKP enough time and power and they will be the same thing.

Not right now, come back in seven months, there is still hope, even if small...

In the past Turkiye was considered as the most progressive, democratic and secular ‘’Muslim’’ country in the world. When people talked about Muslims, Turkiye was showed as an example. Now seeing the path the country is taking right now really breaks my heart. Not just us Turks, but also foreign educated people who knows the history of this country and what it has became. It’s like we literally showed the middle finger to the face of Ataturk and every veterans who fought for this country.

Absolute disgrace.

In England you get political islamists always pushing for sharia and the argument for an islamist ruled state while of course living and enjoying the western lifestyle. What they most remind me of are the socialists/communists
well thank you , finally someone who understands me , the modern Islamism that take over middle east was created after ww2 and actually borrowed heavily from Nazi Germany and soviet union its called islamofascism which include

1 - anti Semitism from Nazi Germany
2 - hate of wealth and wealthy from soviet union
3 - collectivism + denying all right for individualism from both soviet union and Nazi Germany
4 - sharia law from middle ages

No offence but a big part of modern Turkish history was dictatorship and military coups , the west do ignore these facts because turkey was secular . If AK party lost the next election and a secular party ruled the country the West will see turkey as prime model or great country even if the same corruption and political BS remains .

So don't take the West fake value as standard to follow or to work for

Typical once again...
The only time Turkey was kinda authocratic (apart from Erdogan era) was during one party rule which lasted 22 years after the creation of the republic, this was the time that was necessary to do the reforms and modernize the country. The leaders back then made a marvelous job and left the most progressive country of the region behind.
They inherited a broken up country from the hands of traitors with their own bloods in battle trenches for decades, they didnt stop after the war and started the war against the backwardness of the previous empire by educating the population and modernizing the country.
All this just to be called dictatorship by a random dude on the internet but i wouldnt expect you think think critically about it, your country is still lacking such an exsample of a leadership.

Other than that Turkey was never a dictatorship and it was still far ahead of anything that the theocratic shitholes in ME produced even to date.
