Ex ZH883 destined for BAF towed back to H17 area today. She retains her special tail but has a few new panels and more bits removed.

I hope it isn't rumor. Isn't 118 million Euros a low cost for an air defense system?

Depends on how many systems or batteries you get. If Bangladesh did buy the HISAR-O, then for that amount they get at least 2 batteries. A comparable system, the MICA VL cost $192 million for 4 batteries.

118 million Euros is equivalent to $140 million. If one MICA VL battery is $45 million, then 3 batteries cost $135 million. So I guess Bangladesh could get 3 HISAR-O batteries for 118 million Euros.

Acc to Tayfun, Bangladesh will receive first modern air defence missile system so he congratulated the Turkish defence industry.

Who is this guy?

Today, Aselsan announced a deal worth 118 million Euro signed with an unknown country.

I noticed the news before but as it mentioned "Euro" i thought it's a deal with European country? Why did they announce the deal in "Euro" instead of Dollar?

That was army. But i won't be surprised if BAF gets it too as they are supposed to be the first one to get MR-SAM. They announced it at least two years ago.

This order is mostly definitely from Bangladesh army, a top Bangladesh defence portal says as much.

Bangladesh Air Force, which is responsible for air defence, is also looking into the Hisar - O (O+) system, If they decide it meets their requirements, you can expect an even bigger order.

Anyhow, this is another milestone for Turkish arms exports and Turkey-BD strategic relationship.

Bangladesh already uses retinar pr perimeter surveillance radar made by meteksan, they use some Turkish surveillance drones (not sure of which company), they use Turkish explosive ordnance disposal robots, Turkish akrep and otokar vehicles and they have also ordered and soon to get delivery of one regiment of Kasirga / TRG-300 Tiger missile system. Bangladesh also uses Teber precision guided kit for to convert their dumb bombs into guided munitions.

Navy is very interested in Atmaca, so it goes without saying many good things to come for Turkey-Bd strategic relationship.

This FY 4 BAF Mi-171Sh helicopters will be upgraded with Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) systems. BAF is gradually equipping its entire Mi-171 fleet with night vision (FLIR) systems after undertaking the same project with its Bell 212 fleet. Its Italian-origin new generation helicopters are already outfitted with FLIR system and NVG friendly cockpit.
