From the 2023, the goal is to secure all Greek (This example is important to show that Greece alone can only be a barrier country) airspace from north to south. However, this is not just about the 600-800 kilometers from the borders, there is something more important. What I am talking about here is not only air defense missile and related detection and tracking radar systems, but also a holistic approach ranging from coastal defense batteries, ballistic systems, other high precision/saturation capable weapon systems, Swarm-capable unmanned aerial, naval and submarine systems, their autonomy and operational capabilities in dense EW environments; Mobile SOJ and EW systems, integrated data management systems, long-range early warning radars and national encrypted network-based modern tactical data link to the National Warning and Command Control (K2) System.

With the development of national capabilities, hundreds of sub-areas are being commissioned for the first time with a few dozen main projects and a single holistic approach. This will lead to the emergence of A2AD layers, which are unprecedented in our region and will be experienced for the first time.

The Turkish armed forces are technically a NATO integrated army. However, in addition to the military command units that excluded from the NATO structure, it is now also becoming one of the three forces in NATO capable of conducting full-scale NATO-independent operations with all types of elements. This is the most undesirable scenario both for adversaries in need of direct NATO support in the event of conflict and for non-NATO adversaries.

It's tough call though, do we want more SPAAGs or more MANPADs?

I feel like MANPADs are more useful in current UKR-RUS conflict, with Ukrainians taking out cruise missiles with their IGLAs and multiple types of aerial vehicles with British STARSTREAK missiles.

SUNGUR is a very capable missile, I'd like to see current Stinger carried 'ATILGAN/ZIPKIN' vehicles updated - they are getting dated now.

SPAAGs proved themselves very useful against Iranian-made loitering munitions in Ukraine.

Siper Block 2 is the real Siper and it won't be quadpacked.
Siper Block 1 (Hisar RF with a booster) will be quadpacked.

Been telling this for a year or so. I am tired.
One quick question;
If Siper is using Atmaca booster which is 35cm in diameter, how are they going to fit it in to MIDLAS in quad pack which can only accommodate 25.4cm diameter ESSMs? (Assuming it is going to have same dimensions as MK-41 VLS)
Surely they must be producing a smaller diameter booster for quad packing.

Yes and possibly with TVC, however i can not confirm the latter.

Quadpacking is a project continuing separately, we will see Siper B1 test similar to Hisar-D's initially, one missile per launcher.
They also need to achieve the similar thrust of Atmaca's booster to reach requirements of reaction time, probably new kind of rocket fuel to achieve similar thrust with a smaller diameter? I am an alien to this subject.

Only 9 sets of Korkut :( this is really low in my opinion. Ukrainian war showed that close range AA is also really important, we have to increase its numbers.
Normally I think you need at least 90. As we saw in the last war, when things get serious, the demands get very high. Since we live in areas close to the pit of hell...

Avenger Air Defense Missile System : The Anti Aircraft Missile Systems
The Avenger Air Defense System is an American self-propelled surface-to-air missile gadget that offers short-range cellular air protection protection for ground gadgets in opposition to cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, low-flying fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopters.
The Avenger was once at the beginning developed for the United States Armed Forces and is presently in carrier with the US Army. The Avenger system is also used by using the US Marine Corps.

The Turkish industry could easily create a more effective counter UAS system than this if they develop a turret with integrated EO/Lidar/Radar and mount it on a 4x4 or 6x6 MRAP. Air transportability is not as important for the TAF as it is for the US Army/USMC so they can afford to put a better sensor package on the same or use a larger chassis. Weapon systems can be a modular combination of:
- Sungur
- Cirit
- 12.7mm HMG
- 20mm cannon

This should allow the system to deal with anything from low flying jets, helicopters, UAVs, quadcopters and even loitering munitions.

I think Cirit has a lot of potential that is just not being developed. APKWS-II has already been demonstrated to be capable of a surface to air counter UAS role and was even launched from a F-16 to shoot down a cruise missile (air to air role). Cost of the APKWS-II is 4% that of an AMRAAM. It is also significantly cheaper than a Stinger. The Cirit can provide a similar cost-effective shorter range air defence capability.

What do you guys think? @TheInsider @Anmdt @Cabatli_TR
