AFAD teams have very specific and specialized equipment such as thermal scanning devices, sonar and seismic listening devices. BUT, miners are better than search and rescue teams at designing a safe track and tunneling quickly and reliably. I think that most of them don't have specific equipment, they have brought 1-meter logs from Zonguldak and they are proceeding by setting up pigsties (walking fortifications) inside. The miners are digging, preparing the track and when it comes time for the final rescue operations AFAD (probably) teams arrive (with cameras, according to Akif Ersoy) and take over the final rescue operation. This naturally demoralizes the miners' teams. There has been a visible impact since these miner guys have been on the ground, let people do their job, I really can't understand it.
