Defence Fair TEKNOFEST 2023

Technology competitions will take place between 10 April- 01 May 2023 this year at TEKNOFEST, which brings technology enthusiasts together with the slogan of #foryoutocome for a Türkiye that looks to the future with hope in the 100th anniversary of our Republic.

TEKNOFEST technology competitions, where more than 332,000 teams and 1,000,000 competitors compete in 41 main competitions and 102 different categories, will take place in Kocaeli, Bursa, Ankara, Aksaray and Istanbul this year. TEKNOFEST 2023 will witness the successful and self-confident projects of young people who endeavour to make their dreams come true and be the best with technology competitions on this path that we set out with the vision of National Technology Initiative.

The 5-day festival will be held at Atatürk Airport between 27 April- 01 May and will include programmes full of technology, science, aviation-flight shows, award ceremonies, exhibitions, summits, workshops and events.

Is there a thumb rule for the days or hours for visiting? Would you say, for example, saturday is better than sunday(for whatever reason), or morning is better than noon etc.? Can someone give some guidelines?

Note: If i could schedule, i could visit the event with my 4 yo niece. Is there WCs readily available or getting some snacks on the area?

On some days high level participation of leaders may happen which makes it a more hectic day. The last day maybe prone to be a tired and ready to pack up an leave day for the show.

I wanted to go with my 2 girls Thursday or Friday, but they get both a little surgery (geniz eti removal), so no Teknofest for me this year, best would be to visit NOT on weekends, too full, but if you have to, be sure to bring the small members of your family too, because they will be the happiest of all, there are enough places to eat/drink.... it's exhausting, so be prepared.....but it's worth it

Adenoid surgery is way easier than we think actually. Adenoids could be a pain in the neck, so getting surgery is good for them. I will be in weekend. I hope it goes well. Should I get some snacks in advance or can I have some in the teknofest area?

It was painfully crowded and too big. some of the items had over 100m line. I'm so exhausted that i tripped many times walking. But it was worth it. It's difficult to appreciate the size of the platforms without seeing them in person. Atmaca and Aselflir 600 were particularly impressive for me. The camera was the size of a full size pilates ball! I couldn't have guessed it.

Been there today. I almost twisted my ankle tripping over an MDF board left on the ground. If you need to sit down to rest for a moment go to the planetarium dome where they have puffy seats for viewers.

Teknofest is a place where you see people like Tübitak SAGE chief Gürcan Okumuş walking towards you alone casually in the middle of the field or you nod a greeting to DeltaV chief who is standing by one of his rockets indicating you know him and he nodes back. With many industry chiefs present It is simply like walking among superstars of Türkiye, an event not to be missed.
