This title is dedicated to the importance of developing national projects such as the MİLGEM Project and protecting these projects.

Let's talk briefly about the very long story of the "National Ship". Still, a little bit different from the part you see and know. Otherwise, what is the use of repeating what is known? MİLGEM, which was known and recognized by the public, was the fruit of the issue, but how it was possible to get here after the disasters and what happened along the way will always maintain its importance in various aspects and should not be forgotten.

TCG Heybeliada was actually the fourth(!) MİLGEM work because the first three were destroyed by various rudders. To find the real starting point, we would have to go back 32 or 33 years.

Berk and Peyk?


No.

Even if information is given in various sources that TCG Berk, the construction of which was started in 1967 and accepted into the Navy in 1973, is the first national ship of the Republican era, this ship is claimed to be entirely of Turkish design(!), and this claim inevitably sounds good. The real situation is not like that at all.

The story of the two ships built at Gölcük Shipyard, called the Berk Class, actually started in the USA in the 1950s. At that time, four of the so-called Claud Jones Class ships were built, designed to meet the demand for a low-cost escort destroyer, and with the characteristics of a WWII-era hull design. However, as a result of intense reactions and reports from the crew of this obviously unsuccessful design, the US Navy had to stop the construction program of the Claud Jones class and the development process of escort frigates, first Knox and then Oliver Hazard Perry Classes, had begun.

After this period, in the 1960s, a design based on the ship in question and called the Berk Class appeared in Turkey. The stern chimney on the Claud Jones design was canceled and a helicopter deck was placed in this area. The class has emerged.

All the weapons and electronics on the ship (and possibly much more) were entirely of US origin. In short, it is not possible to call the Berk Class a national product. The sad thing is, there was a manpower that could completely and truly nationally design a much better ship than this ship at that time and before, and only two of these people will be included in the subject below...

First MİLGEM Project

Now we can get back to the main issue. From now on, quotes [yellow] will be predominant rather than personal opinions.

Let's start with source [1]:

I met Admiral Karabulut in 1968 when he was serving as a colonel and attaché in London.
... My transfer of this intelligence-quality information2 to Karabulut increased the intimacy between us. When I was in Turkey, we were meeting occasionally and I was transferring some of my works to him. When Orhan Karabulut became the Commander of the Navy as Admiral ... when he asked me if I could prepare a 1000-ton corvette project that could be entirely Turkish designed and manufactured in Turkey, my answer was naturally yes...

At the end of 1987, when I received an invitation from the Naval Forces to make a presentation on this matter, I went to Ankara and conveyed the necessary information to Admiral Emin Göksan and his headquarters. Admiral Göksan was very pleased with this work and supported this project with faith and sincerity.

There was only one problem. Vice Admiral Mustafa Turunçoğlu ... made it clear to me that such a project could only be realized under the full guarantee of a well-known foreign shipyard3, and that a project given only by me cannot be accepted. However, I had prepared a good project and design by working with a well-known design firm called Maierform in Switzerland.

I was using the Hamburg experience pools4 for some work and pool trials on Maierform and the US Navy. Meanwhile, the well-known Blohm+Voss shipyard was also using the same pool of experience in Hamburg. It was certain that Blohm+Voss constantly received all the information and references about my work from here.

Blohm+Voss shipyard, which heard of the Navy's initiative (which was building a frigate called Yavuz for the Turkish Naval Forces within the framework of a project called MEKO-200 at that time), informed me that it would support this project. Afterwards, I heard from Göksan Admiral that Dr. Rohkamm, the chairman of the board of directors of Blohm+Voss, specifically told the commander Göksan Admiral that they have already taken reference about me. Dr. Rohkamm knew very well that my pool experiences were very successful5.

In short, the Navy did not accept my project directly, but Germany's largest shipyard both accepted my project and even took the necessary performance guarantees and the necessary financing.

When the Navy uncovered this corvette project, they canceled the project to purchase two FPB57 gunboats previously proposed by the Luerssen company.

It is also very interesting that a very strong negative campaign started about me, about the corvette project and especially the deep-V shaped boats6 with nautical qualities...

that matters such as ... are exaggerated and dispersed in the Navy in the form of unsigned bulletins...

Disturbed by this campaign, the Navy suspended the ... Corvette project and recourse to the 400-ton Luerssen FPB57 torpedo boat project7.

Thus, the first real MİLGEM project was easily overwhelmed by the Germans' internal feeding and the continuation of the established order was ensured.

Second and Third MİLGEM Projects

In order to better explain the attempts that came after the prevention of the first study carried out by Erbil Hayri Serter, this time directly from a 2004 interview [2] with another valuable worldwide known Turkish Ship Engineer, Ahmet Yücel Odabaşı (Prof. Dr.). It would be appropriate to continue with quotations:

Stating that the roots of MİLGEM have a history of about 10 years and that he was one of the creators of the first project8, Odabaşı reminded that the beginning of the work coincided with the period when retired Admiral Vural Beyazıt was the Commander of the Naval Forces.

But when Mr. Salim Dervişoğlu became the Commander of the Naval Forces, the priorities of the force changed. The project fell down in importance9. Although the project office was not officially closed, it was finished by reducing its financing to zero!

Since then, it has been on the lips only as a name. When the national ship project first came to the agenda, its primary purpose was to build a Turkish-designed ship. If foreigners know more about our warships than we do, we're not much of an advantage. A warship is a ship with stealth. At least in this aspect there is a nationality. The second aim is to contribute to the development of the ship sub-industry in Turkey by increasing the domestic contribution rate, since the added value is very high in such ships.

Reminding that Turkey mostly builds its own warship today, Odabaşı also drew attention to the fact that these ships were built in Turkey with the procurement of foreign designs and foreign materials.

"Construction of warships is not a simple thing," said Odabaşı, and therefore, the military shipyards that have done so "must be appreciated". ... said that a warship, of which design was given, could be produced in Turkey by procuring materials correctly.

Arguing that Milgem is not a project that can be organized by a single person or group, Odabaşı summarized his main concern about the new Milgem as "people who consider themselves in charge may not be aware of the magnitude of the work they will do".

Heybeliada Class and After

And finally, TCG Heybeliada, the first MİLGEM to be built, was reached. There is no need to mention the story of Heybeliada here, as it has already been written and drawn enough on this subject and took place recently.

The first MİLGEM is a very important concept; It was extremely valuable in terms of proving its national and original design and production ability, and the task was accomplished successfully. On the other hand, it was a very good decision to limit the ship to four for some reasons, especially the air defense capability, which is "very inadequate" in terms of the realistic needs of the Turkish Navy, and to continue the work with the Istanbul Class, the second MİLGEM (extended Heybeliada). However, it is noteworthy that this new design still has some important weaknesses, especially the air defense and propulsion system.

However, the last sentence of Odabaşı, which is written just above, should not be overlooked... Another remarkable point is that in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. It is the fact that various national ship design and production studies initiated by a Naval Forces Commander were destroyed by another, and the same situation has been repeated many times throughout recent history, that even this example alone is enough to understand how much trouble the mechanism called NATO is in our heads. it's enough...

No project that is not protected from internal and external trap can come to life in this country. Without political will, the defense industry in general is doomed to become the puppet of foreign intelligence agencies. I personally met Odabaşı, so i might have some other things to tell about this later. Also i own the book of E.Serter so might cross check some images. I recall HRS1300 was more of a concept while HRS1200 or another one was actually sketched on demand of the Admiral and was a doable project.

ANKA, the national UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), which was tested in real combat conditions at Batman Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Base Command in 2013, crashed for the second time.

Defense and aviation experts stated that ANKA, which crashed in Batman on December 6, 2013, caused a malfunction in the automatic landing system, causing it to crash.

ANKA, which was tested by experienced pilots and TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc.) operators in Batman, entered the 'stall' position with its nose up when it automatically descended during the flight, and then crashed to the ground.

ANKA, which crashed during the tests in Eskişehir on September 27, 2012, lost its connection with the control station for 20 seconds, and the mission computer gave the command "self-destruct", and the plane destroyed itself by falling on its nose.

Experts stated that the accident was caused by the automatic landing system of the American company Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), which was obtained with a special export permit from the US Department of Defense.

For a different forum, I wrote an article on the importance of Supply Chain Attacks in the Defense Industry Sector in 2019. Here I am sharing its English version again.


Definition of Supply Chain Attacks


In the American convention, which was enacted on September 4, 2018, the most basic statement used in Supply Draft Attacks in the related bill is as follows:

Hardware, systems, devices, software, or services that include embedded or incidental information technology. (page 2 item E)

In the same bill, the targets of Supply Chain Attacks are listed as follows.

SUPPLY CHAIN RISK.--The term 'supply chain risk' means the risk that a malicious actor may sabotage, maliciously introduce an unwanted function, extract or modify data, or otherwise manipulate the design, integrity, manufacturing, production, distribution, installation, operation, or maintenance of a covered article so as to surveil, deny, disrupt, or otherwise manipulate the function, use, or operation of the information technology or information stored or transmitted on the covered articles.
(page 2 item 7 of the bill, which is also linked to above)


Here we learn that any system that carries any electronic circuit board (whether it's an F-22 fighter plane or a Volkswagen on the street doesn't change anything) can be used for espionage or sabotage.

In 2010, under the auspices of the American government, industry, government officials, a committee of academicians from the university prepared a report in the study of Supply Chain Attacks classified as follows.

It has been pointed out that electronic components, including microchips, may be replaced by counterfeit components at some stage of the supply chain, and that the modified circuit element may comprise a cyber virus. It is also noted that if the electronic components are connected to any network accessible to enemy attackers, the virus can take control of the network.

Logic Bombs

Even if the virus is not connected to any network, it will not fail to achieve its programmed target. A logic bomb may remain inactive until it encounters whatever condition / target it is programmed to.

It is almost impossible to detect the logic bomb from the moment it is placed in the system. Since the virus is encoded in hardware, it still exists even if the host software is upgraded. The fact that the counterfeit hardware placed on the electronic circuit board is of microscopic size makes it difficult to detect extra. A virus prepared by a professional team performs all the tasks it needs to perform. For example, if the missile to be fired from an F-22 fighter is locked to China's J-20 fighter as the target, the virus will be activated and will perform its mission.

Hardware Based Spying Technologies

When we look at the level of development of espionage technologies used in Supply Chain Attacks from past to present; In 2007, Seagate produced a virus for the US military in Thailand, which was installed on a hard drive in China to send information to a specific IP address was in question.

Today, the age of embedded hardware has begun

While Supermicro is an electronics company that produces motherboards for servers, it has been determined that small electronic equipment from rice grains are integrated in the production, instead of subcontractors in China. The servers of Elemental Technologies, which bought Supermicro's motherboards, were used for videoconferencing in the Pentagon's data centers and in the communication of American battleships with the mainland before this incident was disclosed.

In the story that everyone knows today, technical details seem to be interesting for the announcement of the technologies used in supply chain attacks today. Because the microchips are designed in a way similar to the signal enhancement components on the motherboards to avoid attention. However, each of the chips has memory for attack, processing power and networking capability.

To be able to give an example from the US Congress to the Supply Chain Attacks identified in the field as one to one.
I quote one-to-one from the November 2011 report of the Congress

The SH–60B is a Navy helicopter that conducts anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare surveillance and targeting support. The SH–60B deploys on Navy cruisers, destroyers, and frigates and has a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) system, which provides night vision capability. The FLIR also contains a laser used for targeting the SH–60B’s Hellfire missiles.

On September 8, 2011, the Raytheon Company sent a letter to the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command alerting the Navy that electronic parts suspected to be counterfeit had been installed on three electromagnetic interference filters installed on FLIR units delivered by Raytheon. Raytheon only became aware of the suspect counterfeit, by the way, after being alerted by our committee’s investigation. According to the Navy, the failure of an electromagnetic interference filter could cause the FLIR to fail. The Navy also told the committee that an SH–60B could not conduct surface warfare missions involving Hellfire missiles without a reliable, functioning FLIR. One of the FLIRs was sent to the USS Gridley in the Pacific fleet.

So how did a suspect counterfeit part end up in a night vision and targeting system intended for a Navy helicopter in the Pacific fleet? These filters were sold to Raytheon by a company called Texas Spectrum Electronics. This is the map we are showing you about the path of these counterfeit parts. That is a defense subcontractor in Texas. Those three FLIRs contain transistors that Texas Spectrum bought in 2010 from a company called Technology Conservation Group (TCG). TCG, it turns out, is both an electronics recycling company and an electronics distributor. The transistors at issue were mixed in among 72 pounds of miscellaneous excess inventory that a Massachusetts company called Thomson Broadcast sent to TCG as, ‘‘e-scrap.’’ According to TCG, the parts arrived in what appeared to be the original packaging. So TCG sold the transistors as new and unused parts. Now, where did Thompson Broadcasting get the parts? They bought them from a company called E-Warehouse in California, and E-Warehouse? They bought them from Pivotal Electronics, an electronics distributor in the UK. We asked Pivotal where they bought them and their answer was Huajie Electronics Limited in Shenzhen, China.

The C–27J is a military aircraft used for tactical support and to support combat operations. The U.S. Air Force has ordered 38 C– 27Js, 11 of which have been delivered. Two C–27Js are currently deployed now in Afghanistan. The C–27J is equipped with display units that provide the pilot with information on the health of the airplane, including engine status, fuel use, location, and warning messages. The display units are manufactured by L–3 Display Systems, a division of L–3 Communications, and they are manufactured for Alenia Aeronautica. Alenia is a subcontractor to L–3 Integrated Systems, another division of L–3 Communications and the military’s prime contractor for the C–27J.

In November 2010, after a part failed on a fielded aircraft, and in internal testing L–3 Display Systems discovered that a memory chip used on its display unit was counterfeit. L–3 Display Systems had already installed the parts on more than 500 of its display units, including those intended for the C–27J, as well as the Air Force’s C–130J and C–17 aircraft and the CH–46 used by the Marines. Failure of the memory chip could cause a display unit to show a degraded image, lose data, or even go blank altogether. But L–3 Integrated Systems, the prime contractor to the Air Force, did not notify its customer, the Air Force, that the C–27Js were affected by the part until September 2011, nearly a year after it had been discovered. Where did these counterfeit chips come from?

The supply chain is somewhat shorter in this case, but it started off in the same place. L–3 Display Systems bought the parts from Global IC Trading Group, an electronics distributor in California, which in turn bought the chips from Hong Dark Electronic Trade, a company in Shenzhen, China.

That is not the end of it. In total the committee discovered that Hong Dark supplied more than 28,000 electronic parts to divisions within L–3 Communications, and at least 14,000 of those parts have already been identified as suspect counterfeit. Neither the committee nor L–3 Communications knows whether the remaining 14,000 parts are authentic, and the company has not yet identified what military systems they might be in.

Another example. The P–8A Poseidon is a Boeing 737 airplane modified to incorporate anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare capabilities. Three P–8A flight test aircraft currently are in test at the Naval Air Station at Patuxent River, Maryland, and the Navy intends to purchase 108 of the aircraft from Boeing.

On August 17, 2011, Boeing sent a message marked, quote, priority critical to the P–8 program office. The message said that an ice detection module installed on one of the P–8 test aircraft contained a, ‘‘reworked part that should not have been put on the airplane originally and should be replaced immediately.’’ The part at issue is critical to the functioning, in other words, of the P–8’s ice detection module.

Boeing first identified a problem with the part in December 2009 when an ice detection module failed on the company’s flight line. In that case, the part had literally fallen out of its socket and was found rattling around inside the module on the airplane. BAE Systems, which manufactures the ice detection system for Boeing, investigated the failure. They discovered that the part that had fallen out of the socket and dozens of other parts from the same lot were not new parts at all. Rather, they were previously used parts counterfeited to make them appear new. On closer inspection, BAE discovered that the parts had likely been sanded down and remarked. The leads on many parts were bent and marking on the parts were inconsistent. Parts that should have been virtually identical to one another were actually found to be of different sizes.

In January 2010, BAE notified Boeing of suspect counterfeit parts on a P–8, calling the counterfeit parts, ‘‘unacceptable for use,’’ and recommending that they be replaced. BAE engineers believed their use created a long-term reliability risk. But it took Boeing more than a year and a half to notify the Navy or its other customers about the suspect counterfeit parts. Those notifications only came after our committee asked about them. Why it took so long for Boeing to notify its customers is something which we will discuss with Mr. Dabundo, the Program Manager for Boeing Defense, Space, and Security Systems P–8 Program Office who is a witness on our third panel.

The Navy recently wrote Boeing that, ‘‘the Government’s position is that any counterfeit material received is nonconforming material and shall be immediately reported.’’

So where did the counterfeit parts come from in that case? BAE purchased around 300 of the parts from a company called Tandex Test Labs in California. Tandex bought the parts from a company called Abacus Technologies in Florida. Abacus, in turn, purchased the parts from an affiliate of A Access Electronics in Shenzhen, China, and wired payment for the parts to A Access’s account at a bank in Shenzhen, China.

The three cases I just described are a drop in the bucket. There is a flood of counterfeits and it is putting our military men and women at risk and costing us a fortune. In terms of the cost, just one example, to the Government now.

In September 2010, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) learned that mission computers for Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles contained suspect counterfeit memory devices. According to the MDA, if the devices had failed, the THAAD missile itself would likely have failed. The cost of that fix was nearly $2.7 million, and who paid for it? The American taxpayer. We must change our acquisition rules to ensure that the cost of replacing suspect counterfeit parts is paid by the contractor, not the taxpayer. No ifs, no ands, no buts, and regardless of the type of contract involved.

So let us be clear, though. The risk is not created by the contractors. The risk stems from the brazen actions of the counterfeiters. Mr. Kamath of Raytheon, another one of our witnesses, told the committee that ‘‘what keeps us up at night is the dynamic nature of this threat because by the time we figured out how to test for these counterfeits, they have figured out how to get around it.’’

Now, some have argued that even if a counterfeit is not identified right away, that a contractor’s testing process will weed out counterfeit parts. If a system containing a counterfeit part passes that testing, they argue, then the counterfeit part should work just like a new part. But that is not what the manufacturers of these parts tell us, and it is also not what our military leaders tell us.

We wrote to Xilinx, a large semiconductor manufacturer, about the anomalies that BAE had identified on the counterfeit parts that were intended for ice detection modules in that P–8A. Again, the parts were counterfeits of original Xilinx devices. This is what Xilinx told us. ‘‘These cases pose a significant reliability risk. Some of these could be catastrophic. Though the devices may initially function, it may be next to impossible to predict what amount of life is remaining or what damage may have been caused to the circuitry.’’
In those cases, when DOD or a contractor in the defense industry needs a spare electronic part to fix a 10- or 20-year-old system, there is a good chance that that part may no longer be available from its original manufacturer and there may be little choice but to go to the open market to find the replacement part. In other words, the parts that we buy are still supposed to be new even if they are no longer being manufactured.

However, the above examples are not exactly the summit of this issue. In the Supply Chain Attacks risk assessment report issued by the US Air Force on August 14, 2018, the main threats for the Space-Based Infrared Early Warning Satellite program are classified as follows.
As a result, an adversary has opportunity to infiltrate the AFSPC supply chain and sabotage, maliciously introduce an unwanted function, or otherwise compromise the design or integrity of the critical hardware, software, and firmware. (page 7)
When the list of all critical electronic circuits used in the program is requested, it is seen that the function of the components used is not defined specifically and the manufacturer's identification information is not available. (page 10)

Nowadays, it is now possible for professional teams working at the state level to crash or capture satellites through cyber vulnerabilities. It was also stated that China used cyber vulnerabilities to watch India's government meetings for 4-5 minutes.

In such a conjuncture, the creation of Supply Chain Attacks with satellites for espionage or sabotage will have unpredictable consequences. With a virus placed in the communication satellites for espionage, it will be possible to monitor and perhaps even capture the whole network.

Measures for Supply Chain Attacks

Likewise, the SHIELD project is one of the preventive R & D programs developed in the management of DARPA for the related threats.
The project aims to prevent external interference to electronic circuits. It is aimed to mount a 100 micron square sensor developed in the scope of the project to the delivery at the time of delivery from the factory and to verify that the sensor does not see light or that no changes have been made to the delivery with a portable probe during delivery.

When considering the threat assessment on the subject;
  • Recycled components that are sold as new
  • Unlicensed overproduction of authorized components
  • Test rejects and sub-standard components sold as high-quality
  • Parts marked with falsely elevated reliability or newer date of manufacture
  • Clones and copies, which may be of low quality, or may include hidden functionality
  • Components that are covertly repackaged for unauthorized applications
Such substances are counted.

DARPA launched a secure microchip wide area call program on March 25, 2019, which covered the issue in greater detail. In this article, Side Channel Attacks, reverse engineering applications, supply chain attacks and malware attacks are also considered as threats to be taken within the scope of the program. It was noted that $ 1.5 billion was allocated for the fund created under the call.

I wrote the supply chain attacks article in the summer of 2019. Even then, I was against the introduction of US microchips into the inventory of the Turkish defense industry. Back then, people were saying there was no alternative.

But this is a whole other level. Because that's like getting the fox to build the coop and then giving him the key. We're talking about who will entrust the country's electronic warfare infrastructure, folks. This has nothing to do with what Erdogan said or what he would say. This company should not be rooted in Turkey no matter what. I was thinking like that yesterday and I will think like that tomorrow.

This will be made up of two parts back to back. One for the allegations, other for my thoughts on the topic in regards to TECHINT.

Failing to see the issue here where you base your argument on in regards to Anka and the landing software. As we don't have the full dates and a full test history of Anka on hand, not much is available for us to think on. Was this software just added to Anka? We are set to get probably American built F-16Vs from the same LM, that's currently building the SR-72 for the same CIA. If we are going for Libya, why does no one talk about that Pantsir that was captured by Turkish supported forces that was later than handed to US with a frigging C-17 out of Ramstein, which I can guarantee was made possible with CIA cooperation? Why is Erdoğan's private English translator a 20 something young girl who's not a Turkish but an American citizen, who's father was a Jordanian/American citizen? Why this girl listens to our head of state's most secret talks with other world leaders? How did this woman's mother, Merve Kavakçı got her American citizenship when she didn't spend the necessary 5 years for naturalization at the time needed for her green card? Who owns this person and her daughter? Why is our country with its 85 million people cannot produce one single trustable Turkish citizen to act as Erdoğan's personal translator? SNC is nothing special. They are the bad guys today because they unofficially gave their support to the opposition with that video from KK. That is it. Rest is AKP's media frenzy grinding gears as usual. If AKP wins the election, see 5 years later when TAI cooperates with SNC again on space and the same names will be lauding the great cooperation where we conquer the space!

On the gist of your point and for the greater topic, I do very much agree with you. For our C3I tech, we cannot leave the door open to others, be it the Americans or the Chinese. Same goes for the most critical components on our national projects. We need to nationalize as much as possible when it comes to critical stuff. It will not be cheap, it will not be easy, but in this century, cyberwarfare will be the most common form of warfare and if we are to keep an edge, we will have to do every one of them ourselves. This does not mean we will close ourselves to the outside. It doesn't mean we will stop doing business altogether with others in civilian sectors. That doesn't mean we won't use Brazilian designed and built systems in our trainer aircraft, that is okay.

But for the mission critical parts, we need to handle it ourselves. MİT especially should be free of any outside tech that we didn't build ourselves.

Which brings me to, base stations. We remember when US almost threatened UK with cutting them off from Five Eyes intelligence pact when they decided on using Huawei products for their 5G network. Similar stuff all happened with other NATO countries in the past years. Not as direct as it was with UK, but US incentivized NATO members to not use Chinese base stations and related tech.

But not with Turkey. Why? Our 3G network uses Huawei tech. Same with 4G. Ulak is based on Huawei tech. All of our biggest telecommunication companies use Huawei tech. US is disinterested, it's almost like they gave up on us, maybe because they see Turkey as a lost cause to NATO intelligence sharing? Last news I could find is from 2020, Pompeo warning Turkey and it's from damned Ahval News. Nothing in Turkish media. Why are we fine with Chinese encroachment on our most secure communications? They almost also got access to our TSK communications as well but were denied last december. Was that from our own volition or because US directly threatened us by cutting us from NATO command structure? It is very much possible. However, if a company with a SIGINT history produces an aircraft that can take place on critical platforms such as test bed aircraft such as air soj, it primarily raises reliability concerns.
KK's promise that "we will deliver Atatürk Airport" adds to this reliability concern. We are not specifically questioning the credibility of LM or any other US company here. Because it is obvious that they are already foreign companies. However, you cannot compare the fact that the owners of SNC are Turkish and that they are integrated into the local ecosystem in a way that is no different from ASELSAN, with a company from the USA.

Folks, KK's transfer of Atatürk Airport to SNC is not as simple as it seems. Because Atatürk Airport still has a runway where small-scale aircraft can land and take off. Giving this airport to a CIA front company means that Turkey loses control of its airspace against terrorist organizations.

You miss the point completely. It is simply irrelevant if Özmen is Turkish or not. SNC is an American company and that is all that matters since they have to follow American laws and as such, must follow whatever decision America takes as they are in no position to take independent decisions. No sane person is expecting Özmen to give up billion-dollar enterprise in USA to come to Turkey permanently.

Dude, I don't know what kind of articles you write and for whom but in post Number 13 by @Sanchez he showed you what critical thinking and a real analysis is.

All you do is using emotional speeches and controversial accusations to show how Erdogan and AKP is the protector and savior of Turkey while Kilicdaroglu and CHP/Opposition are traitors, demons, American agents etc.

ps Did AKP made Turkey lose it's airspace to Terrorist organization when it didn't close down Incirlik Air Base to Americans even after July 15th 2016? :D

When the talk of cooperation with Huawei for 5g technologies was discussed, İsmail Demir emphasized that they want to keep control in all areas from software to hardware, and that no foreign company will be allowed to dominate this issue. (Year 2019)

To summarize the point Turkey has reached in 5G technologies in 2020;
Turkey has now come to the point of entering comprehensive network tests in the USA, developing partnerships with Intel, and receiving invitations from leading platforms, instead of transferring technology for its own 5G needs.

Today, Turkey is one of the rare countries that pioneered 6G projection in the world beyond 5G. Participating in international conferences with the studies carried out until 2020, 3 workshops were held in the local area, among which ASELSAN was among the participants.

I did not say that Kılıçdaroğlu is a traitor.
As for SNC, I don't think I owe them anything. They have already shown their ranks by taking multi-billion dollar contracts from the US security bureaucracy. If you didn't check the links I gave, that's your problem, not mine.
