The EU has agreed to transfer all interest collected on the $180 Billion worth of frozen Russian assets it has in its possession, to Ukraine. In 2023 alone those assets (largely investments) are set to produce $4 billion worth of interest. That $4 billion will be transferred to Ukraine for military use. Note that it is likely to come with the stipulation that the money be spent to purchase weapons and ammunition from the EU. That way the EU countries and Ukraine both benefit.

A video of a Russian kamikaze drone “Lancet” hitting a Ukrainian T-64 tank has been published. Tank -64 was towing another damaged tank. The fate of the crew and the extent of damage are not reported.

Video of the strike of the Russian kamikaze drone “Lancet” on the Czechoslovak 152-mm self-propelled gun vz.77 DANA. The DANA vz.77 self-propelled gun was developed in 1977 and has a maximum firing range of 20 kilometers; the Ukrainian Army also has a modernized version of the Dana-M2 self-propelled gun. Please note that the Russian Lancet kamikaze drones began to be equipped with a target acquisition system; a double green marker is visible in the video. Judging by the video, the self-propelled gun did not receive significant damage.

In Ukraine, drones began to attack each other. The video shows a homemade Ukrainian mining drone laying anti-tank mines. After the drone finished its work, it was removed to the dugout. After which the drone was hit by a Russian FPV drone VT-40. The VT-40 kamikaze drone, also called the Sudoplatov drone, can carry ammunition weighing up to three kilograms at a distance of up to 10 kilometers, the cost of the drone is less than 40 thousand rubles or 420 dollars. The model of the Ukrainian drone is unknown.

When you realize that GDP and GDP per capita don't always translate to industrial power

What a hilariously bad post.

The EU has provided Ukraine with well over 1 million shells in both NATO and Soviet standard calibers, dating back to the onset of the conflict. The 1 million shells promise from the EU came in late February 2023. The shells were to be delivered over the course of 1 year, by the end of February 2024. 300,000 of THOSE 1 million shells have been delivered, not 300,000 shells total.

Next, people continue to act like the countries supporting Ukraine are short on weapons. That's not nearly the case. They're short on artillery, tanks and IFVs (with the exception of USA) because that's not what NATO's strength is built on. Modern NATO militaries are built on air and sea power, where as Russia (and North Korea) continue to largely employ Cold War type inventories of weapons, supplemented by some newer technology.

Ukraine isn't going to out-produce Russia in artillery shells, but they don't have to. It's better for the West to focus on quality of precision shells, long range drones that out-range Russia's artillery. The goal shouldn't be to saturate the battlefield with shells that aren't precise. The goal needs to be precision targeting and counter battery fire against Russia's artillery systems themselves. It's going to be far more effective for Ukraine to focus on wiping out batteries of Russian guns, than it will be for them to attempt to trade artillery shells back and forth in volumes. Quality over quantity will be of primary importance to the Ukrainians throughout this war.

Ukraine together with the USA created "hybrid" air defense systems, — The NYT

The "FrankenSAM" program allows to launch modern anti-aircraft missiles from modernized Soviet launchers.

One option combines Buk launchers and Sea Sparrow missiles, the other - Soviet radars and SideWinder missiles.

They have already been tested at military bases in the United States and will be put into service with Ukrainian defenders this fall.

A million shells? NorKo sent 350,000 in one shipment, amounting to 1/3rd of your support over the last 1 and half years+ in one go.

This is concerning because NorKo is just a minor supplier, Russia itself has seven times the production capacity of the whole West combined, and Iran are supplying as well. If I were to follow the usual wisdom, the number of shells should be at least proportionate to the size of GDP of respective countries. Not equal or even worse... seven times less.

Yes correct, but NATO "strength" has yet to be successfully applied in Ukraine, because for one Ukraine doesn't even have a scratch of modiocum of what NATO countries employ. They don't have enough fighter jets. not enough air-launched PGMs, no force multiplier like AWACS, tankers, ELINT,SIGINT etc. Which in the end forces them to fight Cold war style artillery barrage warfare.

So it is irrelevant. The battlefield nature would likely stay the same for a long time. Even if Ukraine manages a few F-16.

Footage of the Russian Terminator combat vehicle in combat work in Ukraine is rare. There are constantly rumors that they were destroyed, but this is not so, several Terminator combat vehicles are now working in the Donetsk direction. The car, one might say, is being hunted by Ukrainian units, because any destruction of this car is a significant event and a cash bonus for Ukrainian soldiers. One of its crew members spoke about the work of the Terminator BMPT.

USA is producing roughly 60 "Frankensam" systems for Ukraine, combining existing BUK air defense systems with U.S. Sea Sparrow missiles and an unknown air defense system with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.

A few are in use, but according to the NYT, roughly 60 of the "Frankensam" units will be delivered to Ukraine this fall, greatly enhancing Ukraine's overall air defense capabilities.

Ukraine will not receive any more aid packages from the United States.
USA will provide a separate aid package to Ukraine. Biden wanted Congress to pass a bill for more than $100 Billion usd, which would have included $14.8 Billion usd for Israel, $61 Billion usd for Ukraine, and money for the U.S. southern border and disaster relief.

Instead, Congress wants to do the bills individually. Israel will come first because that's pressing. There is still about $5 Billion of Presidential Drawdown Authority left for Ukraine from the previous bill the USA passed. That's more than enough to bring U.S. support for Ukraine to Christmas. Sometime between now and then USA will work on passing a new, comprehensive spending bill for Ukraine. There is substantial support for both houses for Ukraine, despite the new Speaker being opposed to Ukrainian aid.

All is well. Give it time. As I've said before, Ukraine will have more than $150 Billion usd in military spending for the war in 2024. Between their own sharp increase in spending, $30+ Billion from the EU, $60+ Billion from USA and money from other backers / donors, the Ukrainian war coffers will be healthy for at least one more year.
