None of this is the answer to my questions though. How does signing a memorandum for joining an air defence program that isn't even really critical to us since we already have our own programs running along smoothly is fucking us over? You're just putting other unrelated things together with this program.

And, again, are we supposed to never cooperate with any Western country? Blind hostility is just as dangerous as blind trust mate.

your slipping and sliding now.

by all means co-operate, but when they screw you, you need your own cards to play.

Its like the bully in the school playground, you got to be able to show your teeth when it matters.

I'm happy for co-operation and mutual friendship, but sometimes to keep people honest you have to be able to put them in their place.

Let me add something else, your conclusions are wild. "No one is suggesting cutting all ties" just like no is suggesting we should never cooperate with any western country" your creating narratives to support your own misunderstanding.

The reality is that for Turkey to succeed she has to balance relationships with all players. The more connections she can create with serious nations, the more those relationships keep other actors honest. If germany truly feared that Turkey could leave NATO and join China and Russia, Iran, they wouldnt be so hostlie. If Russia and China and Iran seriously believed that there was potential that one day Turkey could join them, they would work harder to bring us to them. You have to be able to use all the relationships to your advantage and only go so far in to one side as it benefits you.

But, you need to have your own cards to play should nay nation try to screw you. If you have no cards they will screw you every time they can. And by ignoring all of these things, you are being hostile to your own people and no one else.

They do it many ways. In many of my previous posts i've already gone into great detail about these things.

So just a few examples of how they play Turks for fools. Germany is the most important player in the EU, they basically bankroll the Greek state. Have the most influence and power over her. When it comes to Turkey every single hostile greek position is taken against Turkey, whether it be the east med, Libya, the sea of islands etc. They empower their hostility against us.

In Syria just yesterday they embargoed us over things like tanks parts. They support the PKK terrorists and house feto against us. I could go on and on and on.

All these projects you do with germans when it suits them they will simply reengage and shit on Turkey. They are basically the temprory carrot to fool and subdue the Turks and buy their side more time to use against us.

What i'm saying is that you cannot keep falling for these games. For example, they support the pkk against Turkey well why is Turkey hosting 13 million illegals that all want to go the EU?

The point is, if you keep bowing your head down they will just keep bending you over. Every time they engage in hostile acts against our nation their has to be repercussions, otherwise they will keep doing it. And in the long run you will come out the big loser.

also never forget back in 2015 shortly after the Turks downed a Russian jet.

Germany is more interest in protecting marxist terrorists then it is a NATO nation. Tomorrow when you want to strike the pkk again, they will embargo you over the projects you entered into.

The end goal of the west and the PKK support is to balkanise Turkey. To destroy our sovereignty and our peace. Lets start calling a spade a spade. If we don't say what going on, we leave it purely in the hands of their corrupt media to lie and deceive.

I hate to butt in ... But , seriously tho' ...it's the dance you have to partake into ...even if only in humming .
Nobody is an idiot here bruh ...

There is a lot of ways and means to hang the turkey defense industries high and dry here ...
But , then again ....no body was an idiot here ... This is nothing but a empty talk shows gesture between turkey and the rest of EU / NATO ..
simply because there is no way turkey was going to give their air sovereignty over foreign (
highly susceptible ) armaments ...

To the contrary politically we are absolute morons and have been for the past 20 years. I'm not going to go into the long line of failures from this government, its gets boring.

But let me give you an example how bad this government has been, less then 10 years ago FETO were being elevated into every position of the state. They were being sold as the best thing for Turkey. The number one seditious traitors who were working to balkanise the state from within, were being elevated into all positions and roles. We were on the verge of being turned into another Iran, that would play the theatre role of enemy of the west and enemy of isreal.

Nobody arguing you on that front sir . No body ...
What i am trying to convey here is ...liked or not . Turkey are still part of NATO hence you still have to toe the line ...even if only as gesture .
Like i said before ...after all that have been said and done for the past decade or so . There would be no sane turkey's officer or based politician is going to entrust turkey air defences over foreign sourced high end air defence system anymore if turkey has the local equivalent . Nof even for the vaunted S 500 ..
Too much risk at stake to cede your sovereignty over the so callled ....Ally .

How exactly did they do that with this?

And, would you rather have us cut all ties with our biggest trading partners and turn into North Korea with only China and Russia to trade with?
Already, our number 1 and 2 cooperation in imports is with China and Russia

It may have changed in last 2 years but it was Germany 2 years ago. And again, how much does the combined imports from West is worth? And almost all of our top 20 export partners are Western.

Edit: Also, I have to add, I can't fucking believe anyone is touting Russia as more reliable partner than any Western country. Fucking Russia. We are never, ever going to have a bigger enemy than Russia and I've seen multiple people on here talking about them as if they are trustworthy in any fucking way. Unbelievable.

We don't look at it as friend or foe. We look at it from the point of view of trade relations. Trade in oil, gas and wheat from Russia will not end easily. You can even add the nuclear relationship to this.

Turkey and Greece will formally join the German-led missile-defense project European Sky Shield

The wind is changing direction? We are starting another joint military program with the Germans after years, let's see what comes out of it.

Europe is very scared. She is already preparing for the time when the unpredictable Donald Trump reigns in the White House, promising the US withdrawal from NATO. And without the States, Europeans are like helpless children.
While I was writing this long dissertation :) it became obvious that the brave Americans to whom the Europeans had entrusted their safety had decided to panic themselves at the Russian threat.
Difficult times have come, and throughout Europe and America we do not see a single real leader who could lead the defense of the West from the threat coming from authoritarian countries. From Russia, China, Iran,North Korea
Oh, how easy it is to be the head of government in rich Europe, where for 30 years there were no problems associated with an external threat!!! Or rather, turn a blind eye to these threats and engage in populism! And accuse everyone else of authoritarianism!
And when an external threat knocked on the door of Europe, the worthless “leaders” of European countries ingratiatingly turned their heads towards ... the “authoritarian” Erdogan:
- Sultaaaaaaan! Save us from the evil Russians!!!

Do you ever stop to think? Hmm maybe if the Europeans are scared, we should be too at least a bit?

Because the Americans and Brits are our biggest allies in the NATO.
And the alternative to NATO is a EU led project which we are definitely not part of.

Turkiye seems to be on its own. Of course, there are Turkic republics, but their economic, military and technological capabilities are limited. Moreover, they all have antidemocratic governments. Nevertheless, relations with these countries should be strengthened.

I think Malaysia and Indonesia should be given more importance. There is Pakistan, even though I don't like it. Bangladesh could be a good ally.

Security ally? A country that has to travel the world to help you when the beacons are lit isn't very helpful

A court in New York found former US President Donald Trump guilty of fraud in the valuation of Trump Organization assets and ordered him to pay about $355 million, CNN reports.

In addition, Trump will be prohibited from serving as an employee or director of any corporation in New York for three years.

This means that America was led by a fraudster for 4 years!
If he cannot lead a company, then even less so the state.
In short, Trump's song is over.

Allies have no value in case of war if they are on the other end of the globe, unless they are called the United States or Tier 2 countries such as the UK.

The US and NATO are our security backbone. The sooner people realize this, the better.

The US, UK, EU and Arabs (Saudi Arabia, UAE) are also our biggest enemies. They are the heads of the snake who are trying to turn Turkiye into Afghanistan ruled by religious terrorist organizations and sects, who provoke the Kurds into separatism.

And Iran. But yeah I agree. The task ahead is being strong enough that messing with us is cost-prohibitive.

In short to medium term Turkish security is imbedded in NATO. (Specially, with USA & UK)

Maybe in the long term when Indonesia, Malaysia & BD becomes developed (and with increasing trade, security & industrial cooperations) we may be able to throw our economic and diplomatic weight behind Türkiye in exchange for the same in potential regional crisis. (That is about it, direct military intervention is not feasible nor realistic for any party)

But there can also be security value of such mutually beneficial alliance. It is possible to develop alternative strategic depth of ammunitions & defence hardware reserve in case of all out war. Like @Anmdt pointed out here.

And I fully support a collaboration in which;
  • Goktug missiles will be manufactured in Pakistan, with some parts supplied and some manufactured locally, assembled, tested and integrated into PAF assets.
  • The development of Faaz will be supported by TR, including the design of the missile and know-how on certain components. As far as possible, it will be independent of TR in order to create an alternative supply chain.
  • Faaz will be integrated with Turkish AF assets, making Faaz interchangeable with Goktug.
  • Create a common stockpile that can be drawn upon in an emergency.
And this common stockpile shouldn't just cover TR-PK, it should better cover the Turkic world and trustworthy allies as well.
