Turkey has been conducting mining operations in Niger.

The security? According to rumours, sending Turkmen from Syria

Very good. Africans like Turks very much because of our Ottoman history and our kindness and just approach - they never saw us as colonialists like the Arabs see us.

The AKP invested heavily in Africa since 2002 and we are getting the fruits now.

If the African nations could transfer their gold from the French Central Bank to the Turkish Central Bank, then we have jackpot.

I am personally against it as it destroys the fabric of Turkmen existence in north Syria. Want to feed your family ? Risk it in Africa or migrate to TR. It is like taking advantage of a poor population.

But then again, it's not like they are used to fight Assad anyway and there is no industry or economy in north Syria to make a living.

No i mean the overall Turkish investments in Africa since 2002 (construction, mining, infrastructure), not only this case in Niger where Turkmens are involved.

See how weird and crazy she looks when saying that? Now, it wouldn't look as crazy if you knew that Nancy Pelosi has read the article below the day before about Code Pink and its relations to a shady Chinese philanthropist.

Pelosi has read that, but most Americans who will see her whine about the Chinese when it is just plain normal Americans who are protesting her will not have known about any of that. They will think she's just flailing and accusing anything she can to evade criticism. Most will not take her seriously.

I make the post to underline a point about how Western institutions put pressure on their adversaries, and how China seems to be learning from them. They do lots more of the stuff like China is trying to do here. They do so much of it that it becomes very hard for even professionals to decipher it, let alone the populace. One simple instance is how they can create and amplify social unrest in a flick of a finger because of the networks of media, local actors and elites that they create and sustain, e.g. in the Tibet situation for the past couple of decades. U.S. milked that situation as hard as they could to suddenly completely abandon it when they concluded that the attempts are futile. You can read about the sudden decision to reduce Tibet aid to zero by U.S. government here: https://thediplomat.com/2017/06/did-the-us-just-abandon-tibet/; but it should be noted that the decision was preceded by several years of media silence on the issue.

Now when a country in the periphery and its leaders start ranting about the West and their actors disrupting the country, and start seeing clandestine hands behind every act, their populace cannot and do not take them seriously; this is most of the time warranted as although those clandestine hands do exist, more times than not the politicians will use it only as an excuse to cover their own wrongdoings and mistakes. But just like Pelosi here, they do not realize that most of their populace cannot and will not take these accusations seriously, so using them only can work within the limits of preaching to your own choir, even if that.

Now China seems to be learning, and Russia has been quite successful in creating discord and using culture war debates to look sympathetic to a minority of populace in several European countries. But the more of these playing cards you have in your hand and the more sinister and distant your use of them is, the harder it is to irrefutably trace them back to your adversary in front of the gazing eyes of your population; the paranoia and the evidence that feeds it will make your politicians seem delirious and the frustration will lead them to sound like a broken clock always blaming "China" or some other country. I have not seen any credible connection between BLM and China yet for instance, so it seems they are only at the start of their journey. I think this code pink stuff, the NYT "expose" and the Pelosi reaction are only the first chapter of this new delirium in American politics.

It says he's a Marxist who was pushing Chinese propaganda. Does that mean he was defending China in Indian media?

He financed a news website called NewsClick which has a global network and sprinkles its coverage with Chinese government talking points. it is currently under investigation for alleged money laundering and foreign funding violations in India. He has links to several American charities and non-profit groups that are working to promote his agenda. These propaganda groups are funded by American non-profits that have received millions in donations.

You see what I meant is kind of the opposite of that. You don't hire Marxists as China to do your propaganda. All aspects of that operation ooze amateurism. You help an Indian magnate of sorts and help him establish media targeting Hindutvas, hire known Indian pundits who may question, say, secular nature of the constitution and start dividing. Copy/paste for other divisive issues (and other more niche local issues), argue for the most extreme positions on both sides of the isle, positions that might have a base of support on the ground, creating demand gaps that certain politicians will feel the need to fill in, dragging the country into more and more divisive heated fights with the help of genuine willing local participants, making the probability of stupid decisions go higher and higher. There should be no talk of China, Marxism or anything that might point to China; I would give them money to attack China actually, well from time to time and in inconsequential ways.

That is a great observation.

Armenia nevertheless decided to change the national anthem and coat of arms. References to the Türkiye Mount Agrydag (Ararat in Armenian) have already been removed from the video version of the anthem broadcast on Armenian public television.
But there is one nuance here: What to do with the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Mirzoyan? His name is... Ararat! Should Ankara insist on changing the name of Mr. Ararat Mirzoyan?:ROFLMAO:

Azerbaycan Silahlı Kuvvetlerinde görevli Generaller, Cumhuriyetimizin kurucusu Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün ebedî istirahatgâhı olan Anıtkabir’i ziyaret etti.

The generals of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan visited the Anitkabir mausoleum, where the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk rests.
