After I added Kaan today to the comparison table of 5th generation fighters in wikepedia
View attachment 65886

I don't know it will start a fight even from Turkish IPs trying to remove it I don't know why 🤔👀
(it was a too many edits so I made an AI to summarize the fight from the edit history for me 😂)

finally they seemed to have failed anyway :geek:
but unfortunately they removed the flag from here finally (wasn't my edit but inspired me to make mine)

How sure are you about your list?

I somehow find it hard to believe that the largest aircraft (Kaan) is the lightest aircraft in that list. I can be wrong, but where did you get these stats from?

Kaan is not the largest 5th gen, that goes to Su-57 for width and J-20 for length.

Su-57 probably has more area than all other 5th gens

I'm not sure but that was edited version of mine , maybe some edited them in order to be taken down as thier way to remove many things , I remember relying on various sources because there was no comprehensive one covering all required cells but mainly

https://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.php?aircraft_id=1085
then I fact check using AI ,

I checked the table again

so definitely not mine

KAAN target statistics are extremely conservative. KAAN could have better stats than F-15 with reduction in weight, drag and having larger (adjustable) air intakes for high altitude high speed interceptions.

In 1975 an F-15A Eagle set 8 world records, and the last of the eight records reached an altitude of 98,425 feet (30,000 meters) in just 3 minutes and 27.8 seconds from releasing the brake on takeoff and climbed to nearly 103,000 feet. (31,395 meters). New F-15 without drag causing external pylons can near Mach 3 with a weaker engine than TF-35000.

A week after the first flight of KAAN, the Russian main military publication Topwar finally today published an article about the 5th generation fighters in general, and only a couple of words about the Türkiye... Kagan.
Just for fun, I decided to provide a translation of this part here.

« Türkiye experimental fighter is one of the most exciting projects in the world in general. After the Turks bought the Russian S-400 air defense systems, they were logically denied the sale of the F-35, which put the Türkiye Air Force in an awkward position. Moreover, problems also arose with the modernization of existing F-16s.
The Turks decided to build an aircraft on their own, which in the future will replace the F-16, and will also meet all NATO standards (do not forget that Turkey is a member of the alliance), but the trouble is that the Turks had no experience of this kind.
It is clear that the whole world is helping here (Sweden, Italy, Pakistan), but there is one problem: Türkiye engineers have never had the experience of creating their own aircraft engines from scratch, and the Americans have shown complete mastery of their engines.
Negotiations with Pratt & Whitney and General Electric brought negative results, and it is difficult to say how the Türkiye aviation industry will overcome this situation. They don’t give you their own, going to your opponents will obviously cost you more.
However, no one is in a hurry here, and they say that the ESR of the Kagan turned out to be at the level of our Su-27, that is, it is worthless.
So there is nowhere for anyone to rush here except the Turks, who really want their “five”, but there are more problems with it than it seemed at first glance.”

It is so disrespectful to speak about the Türkiye Khan!
Who are they writing about? Damn it, this can be said about some kind of beglerbeyi, or even -bey.
But not about KAAN!

There are totally lost cause so called Turks all right but there are also half lost ones who think yeah Turks can perhaps make planes but it will take a lot longer than what is being promised. And our leadership keep proving them wrong.

Old 27000 ton MTOW figure is from before 2019 when Kaan was to use 2x 20000lbs engines. We don't have a set projected figure for the 35k engined Kaan.

Is the chassis of the current prototype plane a stealth ? Will there be material changes?

I don't know myself what i meant:)

The material of chassis could be cheaper or simplier for safe flight tests since the first Kaan is prototype?
Stealth materials could be fragile or complicated for tests??No idea. Just asking.

F15 EX:
Weight:Empty weight: Approximately 43,000 pounds (19,504 kilograms). Maximum takeoff weight: 81,000 pounds (36,700 kilograms).

Could be a useful estimate for current KAAN

What would be the point of that? They wouldn't get a single useful data doing something like that, your question and the premise you mention makes zero sense.

The current KAAN prototype will fly again it will do test flights regularly but not as frequently as the Hurjet prototype. The second prototype might not fly this year. If it flies this year it will fly by the end of 2024.
What is the current status of the second prototype?

There are 3 weight targets for KAAN: empty weight, typical load (internal fuel+internal weapons ==>higher than 10000kg), and MTOW. Currently, Kaan is the best fighter in terms of composite material use so I expect KAAN to be lighter than F-22 but we should have sanity checks here. Can it be 5550 kg lighter than F-22 (19700 vs 14150)? I highly doubt that. I expect the empty weight of KAAN to fall somewhere in between (16-17000kg). This also checks with the typical load of KAAN given as 27200kg if we deduct 10000kg of fuel+weapons from the 27200kg figure we end up with 17200kg which is not far off.
