Israeli officials are concerned about the International Criminal Court issuing a "secret arrest warrant"
According to the news in Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, an Israeli source in the team working against the ICC's possible arrest warrant stated that they had concerns that the court might issue a secret arrest warrant against Israeli officials.
The news also emphasized that it is believed that Israeli officials, who have issued a possible secret arrest warrant by the court, will only learn about this situation while traveling to Europe.
Speaking to The Times of Israel newspaper, an unnamed senior Israeli official said that the Israeli National Security Council was campaigning to prevent a possible arrest decision.
Israeli journalist and political analyst Ben Caspit, in his article for the "Walla" website, stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu carried out intense phone traffic in order to prevent the arrest decision, and that he "put pressure on leaders, especially US President Joe Biden, by phone."
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs also asked its embassies around the world to be prepared for the repercussions that may arise if the ICC issues an arrest warrant for Israeli officials.
