I don't think so 😕
Damn, I was really hoping we would hear something by now, even if they didn't start integrating them right now. If we're going to continue abusing, sorry, using those poor old M60s we really need that turret and all other upgrades we can slap on them.

What is the latest with Altay serial production? Last thing we know that it is started but that's about it.

It will enter service in 18 months brother.
Yeah but what about the "qualification tests". Unlike Otokar's prototypes we haven't seen any visual, video or anything such from BMC's. Many people even doubt if it is a made-from-scratch prototype.

Transmissions and engines, including BATU, which will power the Altay tank, and UTKU, which will power the Fırtına howitzers, were shipped to Sakarya / Arifiye.

Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of Tosyalı Holding and BMC, answered questions at the SAHA EXPO International Defense, Aviation, and Space Industry Fair held at the Istanbul Fair Center.

“WE ARE IN THE SERIES PRODUCTION STAGE FOR THE TANK”

Emphasizing that the ALTAY power group is very special, Tosyalı provided the following information: “Only 6 or 7 countries in the world can produce this. We are one of them. We have produced our engine, which is currently undergoing intensive testing at the test center. Last year, we delivered our first two tanks. Our Land Forces are testing them, and they have passed all test phases without any issues. Now we are in the series production stage. Our investment in the tank factory in Ankara is also progressing at full speed. By the end of next year, both our tank factory will be completed with all their units and the first tanks will be delivered to our forces.” Tosyalı noted that until the testing phases of their own power groups are completed, the first tanks will feature Korean power groups.

“WE CAN DEVELOP AND ADAPT TO ALL DEMANDS COMING FROM THE FIELD”

Recalling that when they delivered the ALTAY tank last year, they announced it as the New ALTAY tank, Tosyalı pointed out that the tank was originally designed based on field conditions from 10 years ago.

Highlighting that the battlefield now requires more advanced equipment, Tosyalı stated, “The only resemblance between the New ALTAY tank and the first ALTAY tank is external. The electronic capabilities and satellite ground connections are completely up-to-date, even beyond current standards. In other words, all possible future technologies are present in our New ALTAY tank. We are in close contact with our forces. We can develop and adapt to all demands coming from the field.”
