Did he misspoke(Maybe he was speaking about the test deliveries) or did Altay serial production really started silently? (In this case, I'm not sure which would be more surprising, the fact that Altay has started mass production or the fact that some no name government official didn't announce it.)

I expected the tests to go for longer knowing TSK. If this is the case then the test period may have been shortened after the tank showed the expected performance and they started the mass production phase because of the urgency of this project.

T0 also means a payment, likely SSB and BMC signed another contract for the serial production to enable and justify transfer of funds. I would doubt any technical progress while even no visual document have been published from the tests.

The Turkish Defence Industry Agency (SSB) announced the start of serial production of Altay tanks.

Of the first batch of 250 Altay tanks to be produced, 85 will use South Korean power systems, while 165 will use Turkish-designed and developed engine and transmission systems.

Türkiye will use South Korean systems as an interim solution until Turkish engines and drivetrains are developed.

Altay is a modern battle tank equipped with powerful armament, including a 120 mm 55 caliber main gun, a remote weapon station with a 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun.

Designed by Türkiye, Altay weighs 65,000 kg and has an operational range of 500 km.

The tank is equipped with a 360-degree situational awareness system that provides a comprehensive and detailed view of its surroundings.

With the ceremony held on April 23, 2023, the first 2 New ALTAY Tanks were delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces to be used in qualification tests.

Within the scope of the project, the ALTAY Tank has been renewed in accordance with the conditions of the modern combat environment since its first prototype. many subsystems have been indigenized.

The preparation/ completion of suppliers, sub-manufacturers, subcontractors, their purchase/supply scheme and machinery parks is a very difficult and important process. It's not just about the engine, it's much more difficult to create the ecosystem from scratch.

From now we could see the results. No worries. Our army knows its shit.

No official information but AFAIK app 50 MBT per year.

Türkiye is moving towards serial production of the Altay MBT. (SSB)
Türkiye signed a contract on the serial production of the Altay main battle tank (MBT), the Turkish Defence Industry Agency (SSB) announced on 29 May. The agency said on its website that the Altay project would meet the modern tank requirements of the Turkish Land Forces and would acquire technology for the design, production, and testing of tanks and their subsystems in Türkiye.
The SSB set out the scope of the project – establishment of a serial production line, the supply of subsystems for the tank and domestic development of those of foreign origin, development of parts that are different from those of the tanks produced during the initial period, preparations for the production of the first tanks, and supply of the powerpack.
“We are moving to serial production of the Altay tank,” SSB president Haluk Görgün told public broadcaster TRT Haber on 29 May. “There are countries that want to work with us on this internationally, and we are continuing our negotiations with them.”

"4 production lines and 4MBT per month" I remember it somewhere from television. I might be wrong.

4-5 Altay tanks per month between 2025-2030. Eventually, it's planned to reach 8 tanks per month, or 100 Altay tanks for each calender year. 30 of these tanks will be intended for exports on a yearly basis.
