We are truly entering a new era in the military industry.

Regarding the recent agreement on military cooperation with the Czech Republic, it would be very interesting to see a deal for the local production of ammunition, firearms, or other military equipment under their license. They have a diverse range of impressive products.

SOURCE: [DEFENSE ATLAS] "We were very pleased to talk to one of the officials of Tata Advanced System during the Marrakech International Air Show, who confirmed to us that the number of WhaP 8x8 armored vehicles that will be manufactured for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces exceeds 150 and reaches 400 armored vehicles manufactured in Morocco of various types.
The source confirmed to us that the amphibious capabilities were removed from the Moroccan version to increase its operational range, and the troop transport compartment was modified and expanded in a better way compared to previous versions. As for the armament, the source confirmed to us that it will be provided with armament from companies other than TATA, and according to the exclusive photos that we received below, the armament will include:
- 30mm combat turret
- 12.7mm remotely controlled machine gun
- 105mm tank hunter gun
- Anti-tank and anti-tank missiles
- Electronic warfare and jamming systems "

105mm gun. Very interesting. Great to see modular customisation available on the platform.

Seems a lot of older vehicles will be replaced by a new, common platform that will do multiple roles.

It's a little bit early to make an assessment of the Whap 8x8 that will be produced in Morocco. Research and development will still be carried out, and we will see a lot of changes to the platform. The Whap of today, will not be the same as the Whap in 2026/18 months. Maybe the platform's development can serve as a breaking point and a strong card for TATA, and DRDO when it comes to offering the platform to the Indian ground forces over the Stryker deal..

The Whap 8X8 hull is excellently priced, and it will be modified according to what the Moroccan leadership sees fit, so I hope we will order more than 400.

Indian army's reasoning for considering the Stryker is purely political. Like all Foreign procurements, this is a product of Modi's defense diplomacy.. [practiced by governments before Modi as well].. where in India buys defense equipment for certain geopolitical favors in return

Additionally, India has a $100bn trade surplus with the US which Modi govt doesn't want to screw up

But the ongoing tussle with Canada might put the Stryker deal on hold due to Trudeau's tantrums (which is a welcome sign of course) and will pave the way for procurement of WhAP in large numbers

The Government Council approves a new decree on tax exemption for the defense and security industry

The decree aims to support the defense and security sector in Morocco by including the defense equipment and supplies industry, in addition to weapons and ammunition, among the industrial activities that benefit from the temporary corporate tax exemption.

Morocco invests in the field of ballistic steel production for its defense industry

The Moroccan state will support the company Maghreb Steel in developing two solutions:

- development of thin-walled steel made of self-weathering microalloys.

- Development of Weldable ballistic steel

Maghreb Steel is also investing in its Research&Development laboratory together with the UMP6 University where the development of armor steel is taking place. Maghreb Steel is aiming to become a hull producer of armored vehicles and is working on everything from materials for defense to steel for defense. We can presume that Maghreb steel is ready today to produce hulls for armored vehicles, but on which scale remains the big question. That is why Morocco is investing heavily in RD to meet the needs of the Moroccan defense industry.

In India, the Moroccan ambassador affirms that "in the defense sector, other strategic agreements between Rabat and New Delhi will emerge"

Moreover, the partnership between the two countries is not limited to the economy. "India and Morocco have been collaborating in the defense sector for a long time, and other strategic agreements will emerge ," the ambassador added.

Key points mentioned by Ryad Mezzour, minister of industry, and trade.

🔻The majority of participants in the defense industry will be Moroccan, and the sector will be open to all industrialists.

🔻 Collaboration with a foreign partner is not necessary as long as the technology and the investor are validated.

🔻The regulation of this industry will be under the aegis of the Ministry of Defense, and export is possible with prior agreement and authorization from the Ministry of Defense.

For now, given the sensitivity of the subject, we do not yet have all the details.
