Pro-regime field rapporteurs now claim that the regime not agreed with Iraq but the SDF. I hope this news is real. 2 birds with 1 stone.
With regard to Iraq, as far as I can understand, Sadr is also not happy with Iranian influence in region so I think their approach is like, let them fall.

The militants group called “Busaraya Revolutionaries” took control of the villages of Al-Shamitiya and Al-Kharita in western Deir ez-Zor. They were also the first Arab tribes to rise up against Assad in Deir ez-Zor during the 2011 revolution. They have no allegiance to the SDF.

Mike is one of the few pro-Türkiye Republicans in D.C. He has advocated on the US working together with Türkiye in Syria in dropping the ypg for close to a decade now. If more people like him were in positions of power in D.C. the ME or at least Syria would look a lot better than it does now.
Do not forget Biden brought back McGurk (McIdiot) and gave him even more influence after Trump dumped that idiot. Dude has a fetish for pro-Iran proxies and the pkk.
Same McGurk wants to ease sanctions on Assad now, mainly because he sees Turkish supported rebels gain the upper hand.

Does not matter unless they see support in the next days. They won't be able to stand up to pressure on their own. There are a shit ton of arab tribes who are "aligned" with the sdf/ypg just to survive. Especially years ago sdf was able to call airstrikes on arab tribes who wouldn't bend the knee by labeling them isis. Of course the US knew that it wasn't true but we can't have arab tribes revolt against their pet project.
That is why now is the perfect time to launch attacks against the sdf/ypg, the US is in a transition period. Biden won't authorize large operations and the sdf/ypg has lost revelancy in the eyes of the west with the defeat of isis. There are a lot of arab tribes waiting to revolt, just gotta give them the reason to do so.

I don't directly disagree but Doran's pro Turkey views stem from his realistic outlook to Israel's security and Azerbaijani lobby in US. He's a good voice usually and hopefully will have a bigger voice in starting from next year but he comes with strings attached.

So he CAN answer calls when he needs to. He's done, if anyone had any reservations. Egyptians and Jordanians seemingly told him to leave the country and start an exile government. Which is dumb, who would support an autochratic exile government.

It is clear Assad's fall is expected in the next few weeks (if not days), many questions arise but the first one is what will Turkey do ? Will it seize the momentum as SDF/YPG/PKK or whatever it is called continue to grab more territory ?
