The new J-36 is probably just a tech demonstrator but a derivative is/are probably coming next before 2030 perhaps & our Su-30MKI is our only heavy big fighter & will have to deal with it.
Su-30MKI is 21.9m/72 ft long, empty weight 18.4 tons + internal fuel 9.6 tons, + 6 Astr-3 SFDR (1,320 Kg) + 2 R-73 (210 Kg) = almost 31 tons, MTOW 38.8 tons.
J-36 has many speculations on size, weight, etc. One of them is estimated at 22.8m/75 ft long
I took their drawings from Google search, resized & superimposed & it looks like this:

Just look at J-36 span engulfing Su-3X

I superimposed their front views at their nose tip.

That's a BIG gappu jet
If we think Su-3X to be Elephant then J-36 is Mammoth

Certainly puts things into perspective. Well done on your effort here.

The platform taking shape here seems to be range + payload focused rather than compromise with tactical maneuver that comes with fighter role.

Now i'm thinking how about putting 3 AL-31/41 & making a Su-30MKI sized agile stealth fighter

Are there no threads for global 6th gen jets - NGAD, F/A-XX, FCAS, GCAP, B-21, etc?
I saw only 2 Chinese specfic threads.

For B-21 I see some listed at bottom of US section that you can populate to discuss:

Or you can create a dedicated US 5th/6th gen projects etc and I can pin anything you want.

For the rest they may have popped up in the various relevant larger AF threads, you can populate those or also feel free to start a dedicated one yourself if you want to spur some conversation on it etc.

I was going to create a generic global thread 6 months back but didn't.
For now, bcoz all these jets are in conceptual phase & unrevealed yet, except B-21, J-36, J-50 upon whom also only preliminary visual stuff available, so i'll create a generic thread for all. For the revealed ones, members of those nations might be discussing already in their respective AF threads.
