Generally no, though due to a lack of a book, some communities may have gone down that path.

Animal sacrifice was a lot more common. Some communities considered every killing of an animal as a sacrifice, whereas others only performed a sacrificial ritual once a year, usually spring.

The problem with Tengrism has always been the lack of a book. Without a book many of its traditions, holidays and rituals have been lost to history. No wonder why it got swallowed by Islam. Even Buddhism has holy books.

If a combined cultural ministry of the OTS collaborated and created a book which serves as a guide to Tengrism and Turkic mythology, I think that would benefit the Turkic world. We are stuck between a slowly declining Western world, an Islamic world which is rotten to the core and a rising China. We need to have our own identity.

Islam was also useful in uniting the various Turkic tribes into 1 state.

Whats interesting too Islamisation of Central Asia was not just due to the Arabs and Persians but the Turco Mongols who became Muslim played a big role in it. You had Muslim Mongols declaring Jihad on Tengrists and Buddhists. Emir Timur also played a role in the Islamisation of Central Asia and his descendant Babur took Islam deeper into India.

It made sense too at the time.

Muslim Turks also clashed with Buddhist Turks. Buddhist Turks were the ancestors of modern day Uygurs.

People think its religion but its also Geopolitics.

Tengrist Turks even fought among themselves and the Gokturks exiled the Oghuz Turks.

I think you and @Mis_TR_Like would find this talk quite informative. It is on one of the prinicipal figures responsible for bringing the Turkic world into Islam, Khwaja Ubaidullah Ahrar. Alot of interesting insights into early interactions between the Mongols and the Persian-speaking Muslims of Transoxiana (southern Central Asia).

Even if you are stepping away from islam, it would be informative from a historical perspective. It is given by a lecturer at Cambridge University, a Muslim himself so partial in that way, but still quite rigorous about the academic integrity of his work.

Another lecture of the same series (Paradigms of Leadership) that people might generally find interesting is one on Cosantino of Paros. Which provides a very immersive view into the Spanish and Roman Inquisitions and the interactions between the Ottomans and Christians during these days, focusing on the life of a greek convert to Islam (a "Turk" in those days) Cosantino of Paros.

Please pardon my preaching Mis_TR_Like, but I wanted to share a Hadith with you. A prophecy regarding the condition of the Muslims during the end of times:

Narrated Thawban:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.

Sunan Abi Dawud 4297

There was another Hadith as well which I encountered some time ago, about a darkness which would come over the arabs during the end times, but I haven't been able to find it.

The crux of what I am trying to communicate is that, it is factually the case that Muslims today are in a pathetic and defeated condition. However, the prophet did say that exactly this would happen. Perhaps you may find in this a reason to confirm his prophecy.
