Generally no, though due to a lack of a book, some communities may have gone down that path.
Animal sacrifice was a lot more common. Some communities considered every killing of an animal as a sacrifice, whereas others only performed a sacrificial ritual once a year, usually spring.
The problem with Tengrism has always been the lack of a book. Without a book many of its traditions, holidays and rituals have been lost to history. No wonder why it got swallowed by Islam. Even Buddhism has holy books.
If a combined cultural ministry of the OTS collaborated and created a book which serves as a guide to Tengrism and Turkic mythology, I think that would benefit the Turkic world. We are stuck between a slowly declining Western world, an Islamic world which is rotten to the core and a rising China. We need to have our own identity.
Please pardon my preaching Mis_TR_Like, but I wanted to share a Hadith with you. A prophecy regarding the condition of the Muslims during the end of times:
Narrated Thawban:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4297
There was another Hadith as well which I encountered some time ago, about a darkness which would come over the arabs during the end times, but I haven't been able to find it.
The crux of what I am trying to communicate is that, it is factually the case that Muslims today are in a pathetic and defeated condition. However, the prophet did say that exactly this would happen. Perhaps you may find in this a reason to confirm his prophecy.
