ANKARA: The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) of Turkey has shut down a website found to be a part of the Indian disinformation network against Pakistan exposed by the EU Disinfo Lab earlier this month.

The report, deep-diving into a 15-year covert campaign, highlighted an organised network of hundreds of fake media outlets and resurrected NGOs pushing a pro-India agenda in the European Union and United Nations bodies to discredit Pakistan.

In a tweet, a Pakistan diplomat in Ankara, Abdul Akbar, confirmed “Hamsvasser”, a Turkey-based Indian propaganda website, was taken down by the Turkish internet regulator.

“Named after defunct Hamevasser Hebrew weekly published from Constantinople during 1909-1911, the website was part of #IndianChronicles [title of the EU Disinfo Lab report], resurrected by India to defame Pakistan in Turkey,” Akbar tweeted.

A) There is zero evidence any of this is related to the Indian govt.

B) A larger context of consistent criticism w.r.t India vs world vs oneself can be found here (And thus erdogan special level of hypocrisy given his increasing silence w.r.t Uighurs lately):

IIRC, you are a fan of Bangladesh...so you can ask them as an example (if you know enough Bangladeshis) what they thought Turkey's (by way of Erdogan admin) "accusation" (designed as "support" to another country) toward Bangladesh prosecution of their war criminals....and if it was consistent and fair basis.

Just to give you idea two hands are needed to clap...in case you assume there is just one.

You didn't answer my question. Why is Turkey so important for the Indian government even though no special relationship between Ankara and New Delhi is existing? I see on the internet and the Indian media how much stress Turkey's support for Pakistan is causing them. It's weird and mostly overrated.

Its literally there in point A....yet you bring up "Indian govt" again.

That's like saying I assert this (whatever the evidence at hand on the issue).......and then say "you didn't answer my question"...when it was strawman.

If Indian govt is involved in whatever this website was, simply Turkish govt can say so and provide the evidence. Or it can prefer to ratify extradition treaties quietly with PRC (while knowing whats going on there), there's that too...and show a super consistent approach (esp given the scale) yet again.

Whatever you see on the internet through whatever filter of your picking is known to only you. I don't see Turkey really come up (in Indian media or society discussion compared to the vast majority of discourse) not even 0.1% of the time frankly, except when Erdogan gets on some platform and does some verbal stunt w.r.t India name and internal affairs.

Yes for that Indian govt will give a reply as required at same verbal level since its a govt/leader accusing our entire nation of something selectively and with no proper context or consistency.

Thats the larger context I gave in above post....as to how he negatively affected relations with even a muslim country (Bangladesh) doing just that (so why would India be different?). As you put it some special relationships make special exceptions I guess...rather than follow a basic core principle on the issue at hand globally.

If you want to call it "Ankara"...be my guest....but I prefer calling the phenomenon by the leader's/admin's name....since we didn't see this before from Turkey leaders.
