Hopefully We will see it inducted this year it will be our best leverage against Greece in Aegean since they lack any EW capability outside Rafale Spectra. It will be especially effective when Qatari Eurofighters arrive because thanks to Much better EW(Hava Soj), better AWACs(E-7T) and better kinematic performance(Supercruise) they will be much likely to get a Meteor targeting lock. Honestly I am starting to think that they will do a big ceremony for air force like thet did for Steel Dome and Roketsan Deliveries with Kızılelmas, T-70s, Gökbeys, Hava Soj, Hürküş 2 and various UAVS(Aksungur, Akıncı, TB 3, etc.) and Eurofighters if everything(Deal, Training and maintenance infrastructure) is ready by then of course.
That should be a trailing cone for further testing.is it me or is it pulling something on its tail
The HAVA-SOJ project essentially encompasses a comprehensive suite of heavy structural engineering, including generator system modifications, APU overhauls, cooling infrastructure upgrades, fuselage-surface structural work involving canopies and fairings, sensor modification and integration experience, cabin interior equipment, console integration, as well as design life and certification expertise.
Absolutely, however this can be replaced by unmanned systems going forward. Still valuable experience can be employed but on smaller planes perhaps. In which case this kind of job can be referred as manned SOJ I guess.
This demonstrates that the platform establishes the technical foundation for developing various specialized mission variants by serving as a ‘common aircraft architecture’ in the future. The capabilities gained through the HAVA-SOJ project on the Bombardier Global 6000/6500 are not limited to producing a single electronic warfare aircraft.
These significant engineering achievements have the potential to provide Türkiye with a 'nationalized common platform architecture' for special mission aircraft. Consequently, by placing a high-volume order for green fuselages (+20 units), the production of variants tailored for electronic attack, electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT), airborne early warning (AEW), and even maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) missions could be targeted.
TUSAŞ could thus rise to become one of Bombardier’s most strategic integrators. Solutions in this class will not only provide a force multiplier effect within the Turkish Air Force but also capture significant export opportunities in the global market.
