Within the last few days, Iranian-backed militias have destroyed Yemeni govt forces by a significant margin; however here is the catch, nearly all the territories that were lost were supposed to be protected by forces that were once part of the UAE-backed Yemeni transition council. According to Iranian and turkish sources, formerly UAE-backed forces didnt even fire a bullet against the Houthis even though they were ordered to hold the line while Saudi-backed forces try and storm Sanaa city
In other words, the UAE backstabbed Saudi Arabia in the most crucial moment possible and sided with Iran to give it more leverage against the Mecca alliance amd the US. It was a message of revenge from the UAE to Saudi Arabia saying: "Just because we were kicked out of Yemen doesnt mean our influence over our militias have waned" and "this is what you get for forming the Mecca alliance"
