If for some reason it becomes necessary to cut entirely off foreign software so be it, I would rather do that.

It's not "foreign web services", it's everything. Most of your banking apps also won't work. Anyone dabbled in IT and fintech for a few months knows this. Web is Israeli. Anything you ever bought, shared online in the last 10 years has a crumb of info that travelled through an Israeli owned or maintained server.

Turkey doesn't have the power and the market to support such an idea and the government don't have the popular support to enact a great firewall. Regardless this will be done to some degree, but it won't be this government that does it most probably. 10 years later maybe, because the new world order of internet will force us to; globalism is dead.

You will be shamed. You don't even call Türkiye by its name and you are being biased against Türkiye.

Foxbase the mother of all databases originated from Türkiye. Every piece of software have opensource counterparts to tap into. We have used foreign software because there was no vision to make everything domestic back when web all started. We followed the pioneers but now we have time to catch up. Just like how the US kept banning China stuff we can ban anything that touches Israel and we can bake it into our laws just like the US does.

Pro US is how, Türkiye priorities its own interests and collaborates with other powers when it benefits both sides. Every law idea comes from individuals who have insight. The current government has the longest time experience with government matters. 16th time speaking at the UN meeting is not trivial.

The number of apps that people need on their computers and phones probably only number in hundreds, there is no need for a large ecosystem to make a new phone OS work.

Definitely, Aselsan should make a phone like that. A phone only for communication, shielded from outside. And given to tens of thousands of people. It should be government issued even. Offical business should only be handled on it. Fire mission orders should be sent over it if radio is not available, not through whatsapp.
