Actually, if you look at history, the last thing you can say is that the US system has stagnated. It remains dynamic, with constant updates as needed.
I disagree, no efficent amnwer to china and other small rising powers, society became mess, conglomerate of to many different ideas and people were prevails the loudest one, not the most merit ones. It used to be good thing, still is but today, but it is not enough in this postmodern world where there is no more major technology gaps with what you could pUll the strings as in the past. On the peak of usa power, for example china suffered from hunger, i simply dont see how usa can become influental in world as it used to be.

No one big/public figure wants to step back and call out their own side to degree needed. (Reference jimmy dore for whats needed)

The MSM (bar fox news which is really just controlled op) takes one side.

Social media +big tech same thing...they are not balanced.

This percolates and gaslights immensely.

There was an entire 2020 year of mass riots (in inner cities) indulged by the democrats, where cops were told to stay away because they were the problem now.

You now have a speaker of the house who has literally posed with her 25 grand fridge or whatever and her super expensive ice cream inside it.....in the midst of suffering in a pandemic.....now doing her garbage impeachment posturing again.

I'll tell ya one thing though, Democrats say they've changed from "birth of a nation screened in white house" woodrow wilson, pre-ww2

They've only learned the good things about "big govt, pack courts if i can" FDR.

They even look up to " ill have the N-words voting democrat for the next 100 years" LBJ kind of utter crap....on his "big society" welfare precedence.

All 3 of these were noted progressives....especially Wilson. This is what people don't get, what is "progressivism"? What is it referenced on? To simply move from A to B (out of whatever populist "solid election turnout" base you appealing to) is not necessarily good...in fact it can be the exact opposite. Woodrow Wilson was instrumental to keeping jim crow vice locked for a good 50 more years than it needed to be.

There were full on Klan marches in DC capitol in the 20's after him (no surprise)....all democrat action groups emboldened by the progressive president.

Post cold-war they have just put finger to wind and figured out how to launder their whole schtick to be "identity politics" now....rather than any civic nationalist frame.

This is why one side gets to get away with what it does (and gets every bit of media cover and suppression for it as required) and the other side gets painted as the full on sole culprits when their own louts respond in monkey-see monkey-do fashion.

It is result of 30+ year culture war waged in the US that is now ripe for political "winner takes all" by those that seeded it sensing the opportunity...at whatever cost. They just expected a slow boil frog timeline, but Obama in 2012 (given the shambles of the 2010 midterm for him) went ahead of schedule.

You expect Biden (the literal VP of obama) to take a stand against what was done by the very own admin that made him any kind of name.... and its larger failure to deliver "Change" (in 08 when obama was still outwardly running on the traditional civic nationalist mindset)?

Just watch Yuri Bezmenov.

So where is that going to go? If a whole political faction is not honest with itself, and never has been....if it can simply bully and gaslight its way....you think the aggrieved just melt away and call it a day after all they have invested into the country too?

How many of you honestly know or knew about the street details of the antifa/BLM riots and the fact democrats were running bailout funds for them?

None of that was given any kind of coverage by the bought and paid media. But now its all Trump's fault again and the republican's fault solely. Unbelievable dems have gone this far into their own gaslighting, hook line and sinker.

Do as we say, not as we do.

OK...Got it jackass (yes thats what the dems have as a symbol, I kid you not).

Seriously the USA is so similar to the Ottoman Empire in this regard especially in its declining and collapsing stages.

So many ethnic groups, races, political ideologies along with differences exploited by various powers and the mass profileration of guns mixed in with traitors along with weak and jokes of leaders like trump, clinton, bush and now biden.

So chilling to be honest.

Of course you have the right to disagree, but my comments are about the US system of governance and much of what you say is not related to that topic at all.

Joe Biden indeed has a tough job ahead to tread a fine line that unites rather than divides.

When ever was the US really united?
The better phrase would be:keeps them in line.

The US relies on a loose association between all its diverse States, E Pluribus Unum. Biden has nearly 50 years experience on the Hill so he might be better placed than most to "keep them in line" as you put it. In the end, what he delivers in two years will affect whether the Democrats keep the houses, and that will determine what happens in the two years after that. Who the candidates will be for 2024 will lead to much jockeying within both parties.

people thinking the US is on the decline should look really carefully here. The US is now on a slower pace, than e.g. EU or China.

back when the US was the sole superpower in the world it was a relly big exception, because there were very few sole superpowers in history. Now the world is preparing for a multipolar world

Will she able, she looks tough enough?

That is only hypothetical at this point.

I don't mind discussing just about any topic, but I also like to stay within the topic of a particular thread. If there is another thread on those wider directions, then participants can discuss them there.

Man... Imagine being gullible enough to get brainwashed and incited by conspiracy theories spread online by anons on Twitter and Parler and a conman who lost the election by a landslide. Enough to invade your own Capitol, the center of your country's democracy, commit sedition, all while thinking that you are patriots protecting your country. Enough to make your own country the laughing stock of people from other countries.

A conman, who has lost 62 times trying to overturn the election in multiple cases, across multiple states, with several of the cases being handled and thrown out by judges that said conman appointed himself, including at SCOTUS where 3 of the justices are appointed by said conman and 6 of the 9 justices are conservatives, all because he and his team never had any solid evidence to back up their claims in the first place. Imagine stacking the deck so much in your favor and still losing 62 times.

Imagine believing conspiracy theories spread by people like Sydney Powell, who is now being sued by Dominion for 1.3 billion dollars for defamation. And somehow there are still people who believe these theories, spread by these nutcases, enough to invade the Capitol.

Education and the ability to critically think truly is the best safeguard for rule of law and democracy and America has truly screwed itself over by making proper education almost impossible to afford by most people.

What a sad day for democracy.

Well, at least now they are rushing to impeach Trump so he may never run for any public office ever again. Hopefully he lands in a jail cell somewhere in the US for inciting sedition.
