to be honest i dont think so... why would someone make a render mistake but actually design a perfect ship? its a very uniq design in reality.. its a message i guess after making a deal with Ukraine about the engines..

TF-2000 design is already frozen, furthermore nothing of that mess of a 3d render is unique as it is the same design of the Iver-Huitfeldt Frigate of the Danish Navy, most likely it is the Iver-Huitfeldt and someone made a mistake and uploaded the render used as a placeholder for the Milgem. The same 3d render is also used for the FAC-55. Are we changing that to a frigate now too?

There is no message here, never was. STM has nothing to do with the TF-2000 which has been designed by the Navy itself as a AAW/Multi-Role Destroyer.

There will be small changes on the TF-2000 but those will be the substitution of Gökdeniz for Phalanx. Nothing else will change.

I put Iver Huitfeldt design next to it, they look similar in some lines but they are definitely not the same and secondly I do not believe it was mistakenly put there. If it was a mistake they'd correct it by now, did not happen.

I hope STM will come with a satisfactory explanation

It was mistakenly put there i can assure you. STM doesn't work something like this :) It is just a creative 3D artist has been working on those ships. Replacing Oerlikon Millenium with 76 mm and such, modifications are all his imagination. (This is the best explanation for Smart-L placed on helicopter deck of FAC55)
If you check brochures&catalogues shared by STM in the stand you will figure out what supposed to be in place of those 3D models, brochure of the each product is present as themselves or within the company catalogue.

If you have read the posts you would also realize i am telling that STM hasn't shared 3D models of the platforms thus SahaExpo event planners got something done on their own.
On the other hand STM has no reasons to deliver such a badly finished 3D render. They have high detail and up to date 3D models of the platforms they are working on.

Uskudar's new writing on CIWS systems used on Barbaros-class

Quick Translation

20mm / 25mm

Barbaros-class modernization includes replacing 3 Sea Zenith with 1 Gökdeniz and 1 Phalanx

Using two different systems for CIWS can be considered problematic and thinking it can be a alternative to Sea Zenith would be optimistic.

The reason Navy wanting to replace Sea Zenith is because inability to integrate it with other electronics, software and very high price of replacement parts rather than issues against neutralizing targets.

Phalanx uses 20x102mm kinetic energy ammunition for anti-missile.

Depleted uranium based MK149 Mod 2 was replaced with Tungsten based Mod 4 ammunition due to risks. Current ammo type that is used by Phalanx for anti-missile roles is MK244 Mod 0 APDS.

Sea Zenith uses Tungsten based 25x148mm AMDS ammo for anti-missile.

amds-ve-mk244.png

Energy density of the anti-missile ammos over distance

Energy of Sea Zenith ammunition is enough to completely get rid of the missile threat while energy of Phalanx ammo is only enough to damage. For example, if a anti-ship missile gains ballistic momentum, Phalanx might not be able to stop it depending on damage level on the missile and where the missiles location.

Conclusion:

1) Phalanx is not enough the meet the needs of Turkish Navy, even if it were to be given for free it should be nationalized as it is the last defense against threats

2) Country like Turkey needs much bigger Navy, because of this there should be no dependence systems such as this.

3) Gökdeniz might be a capable solution, if not it should be under development

i've two questions.
First MAR-D isn't too low in order to 360 degree cover?
Second, why does it have 2 AKR( as far as I understand the second one top of the MAR-D)? Could we assume the ship will have ESSM without Active guidance?
That is why we should wait to see final form if this Mar-D has been positioned in somewhere with better coverage. But it is for sure it will be dedicated 3D search radar for CIWS like in Barbaros MLU.
Block II uses passive/active guidance ,and i think active guidance is used in terminal stage.

360 degrees of lateral coverage of the MAR-D. Altitude closure 70 degrees.

I would add a question, why a different setup for the I-class and Barbaros modernization.

Why for instance did STM not chose also for Gökdeniz CIWS for the Barbaros upgrade and leave away the second mast with MAR-D (since Gökdeniz has already the MAR-D)?

Would standardization not make more sense?

Mar-D on Gökdeniz is actually optional, and intended for standalone use of Gökdeniz (on small vessel lacking a 3D search radar and a mast to support it)
On Barbaros there are two CIWS, this could be reason why Mar-D was not attached to Gökdeniz.

On I-Class, it will make sense to wait and see whether it was moved on a mast for better coverage. They might have changed the design.

Or maybe it will be adequate to be position it on Gökdeniz since there is one CIWS and it wouldn't matter if Mar-D can specifically scan blind spots of the CIWS (which is also covered by Smart-S).
So from that point of view it is standardized, Barbaros had 2 masts which made it easier. and we haven't seen I-Class fully yet.

The military floating dock built by HAT-SAN has successfully completed the tests. The dock has 175 meters length, 42 meters width and 10 thousand tons of lifting capacity.

Nice! A floating dock (10000ton class) that was constructed for naval surface vessels was delivered to Military shipyard and an enclosed floating dock is being constructed for submarines up to 3000ton displacement. This dock will be delivered within 1 years.

After this period, we can expect naval warship and submarine programs to be accelerated.

I guess it will be used at Alaybey Military Shipyard.

I'd say the dedicated mast gives best 360 cover that's why they put new mast.

Smart-S occupies the main mast.
Actually Gökdeniz would work fine without Mar-D since Smart-S would do the job (detect/track), a second radar with a different band is bonus.
