Biden’s new foreign minister, vows to keep Turkey away from Russia and Russian influence. In spite of differences of opinion he says US must keep Turkey in th western flank and must not allow it to slide towards Us’s enemies. To do this negotiation is the key he has added.

Empty words. US-Turkey relationships wont get any better until government changes and I dont think they should get better.
Still I think it is more complex than some people think. We support Ukraine for some reason. Maybe as a leverage against Russia.

Means for us?
Be closer to Russia and China.

Turkey has to balance her relations, unfortunately diplomatically ak party is shockingly inept. So the wise thing to do would be to hedge relationships against all competitors, but not to make the mistake in thinking any of these states are Turkeys friends. However this is not possible under erdogan and ak party since they have shown time and time again to be poor diplomats.

The only real solution for Turkey is to escalate and increase the drive to develop her domestic arsenal and look for every gap in which she can use her military. Only place we have seen Turkey win anything geopolitically was when her military got involved. Everything else has been a failure.

It means that Turkey's Syria policy has failed drastically.

In a strange way, China is much more reliable as an ally than Moscow but the Chinese want you 100%. They give you everything you need but they gonna owe you in return. No backtalk allowed! No public disagreement! No criticism! Only harmony and praising China at every chance you get. Very tiring. Ask the Pakistani.

The Turkish government has opted for Europe as an alternative. The next months and weeks will show if this decision was really wise or just a waste of time.

All I want is the renegotiation of the Customs union. Once we've done that: screw 'em.

Maybe the greatest mistake in the republics history was for AK party to join the american/israeli war against Assad without actually having the means to create facts on the ground that favoured Turkey. It was obvious that they didnt want to topple assad since all that happens is Islamic brotherhood takes over and thats worse for the west. So they wanted to drag Turkey into the conflict and let it persist for the next 50 years, while they silently build a pkk/kurdistan aimed directly against Turkey. Turkey should have worked to maintain the status quo regionally for the next 25 years so that when war comes she would be ready.

It allowed the west to promote the PKK as european saviours. It allowed them to show Turkey as the chief financiers of Isis. It forced Turkey on a direct path of confrontation with Russia that has only escalated into other theatres.

It forced the shia crescent to double down in their efforts against Turkey.

It created a fear in the whabbists of the gulf that Turkey or rather the Ottomans were back on the move and united their efforts against Turkey. Something about when the Turks move it gets so much of the world triggered.

It ruined syria opening the doors for the west and russia to all place places in syria supporting enemies all hostile towards the Turkey. The russians supporting the shias against Turkey and the americans/west supporting the communist ypg terrorists against Turkey.

While Turkey has so many threats it allowed everyone else to try and shit on Turkey knowing she had her hands full.

We could go on and on what a failure syria was for Turkey, but there really isnt any point anymore going on about it. Its clear the supporters of AK party are quite happy with all this failure. What matters now is that Turkey is able to fight in every corner possible. If we are not fighting we are losing now. We have to keep fighting, there is no other way now.

My money is on improved ties. Don't expect excellent ties or F35s any time soon but there will be more cooperation again.

Personally, I also believe that the American-Turkish relationship won't fail but I don't expect a blossoming of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Things will stay the same for the most part.

YPG in Syria is US ally and as long ad US is there it won’t improve. But Russia stepping in won’t do anything to YPG either as Russia will use it to pressure Turkey. Only option is strengthening our hand and our side. Ideally if SDF only has arab and Turkmen commanders and ran the show that would be good.

Racial and religious reasons play a role in this no doubt.

Turkey and China are not European, Western, White and Christian.

Its obvious that we always constitute a threat to their civilisation and their race. Hence why they dont want competition when it comes to world domination because white people are perfectly happy by dominating the world anybody challenging it is seen as threat to their world order.

yup people can say what they like about the USA - Russia adversarial relationship, Syria proves they'll work together or at least go out of their way not to harass each other when it comes to Turkey.

Turkey really needs to survive long enough so that bad actors in the region lose enough control over them that it'll never matter again.

We only need to fortify our defenses by going from 700 projects to 1000 projects of defense and from 70% to 90% self reliance which will take another 8 years. At that time we won't need anyone's back up and we can stand against anyone.

You just contradicted your first sentence.

Turkey could take over all Syria with ease if they provided aid to rebels in 2011-2012. There was no need in ground troops at all. Just send some cheap arms and maybe shoot down some barrel bombers.

But Erdogan watched still as Assad leveled to ground Syrian cities and villages (including 1 million Syrian Turks), as ISIS invited by Assad took over most of the border with Turkey. When Americans intervened to fight ISIS, the only force they could rely on were Kurds. Then Erdogan started to panic and initiated ground operations. He was forced to make deals with cheating Russians and made stupid S-400 deal.
