Rosoboronexport arms dealer announced that Russia’s participation this year at the IDEX 2021 will be held without the showcase of the new T-14 Armata main battle tank and confine to mock-ups of modern combat vehicles.
Russian media on Feb. 5, reported that the state-run arms broker will be showcasing the new Armata family of next generation combat vehicles at IDEX 2021. But later was added that the real vehicles won’t be delivered to the IDEX expo due to logistic problems arising from the COVID pandemic.
At the same time, Russian military expert Alexey Khlopotov said that Rosoboronexport won’t display modern combat vehicles amid fears of arrest.

“Actually, as I have said more than once on social media, this is not a full-fledged display, but just a demonstration of mock-ups […],” said Alexey Khlopotov, added: “And why? Because there are good reasons to believe that our heavy vehicles abroad may be arrested.”
Currently, Russia is under tremendous pressure from international sanctions. International sanctions were imposed during the Russo-Ukrainian War by a large number of countries against Russia and Crimea following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in late February 2014.
The sanctions were imposed by the United States, the European Union and other countries and international organizations against individuals, businesses and officials from Russia and Ukraine.

IDEX 2021: Paramount agrees Indian production for Mbombe 4

Paramount Group deepens cooperation with Indian partner Bharat Forge Ltd.

The Mbombe 4 armoured vehicle from South Africa-based Paramount Group is to be manufactured in India, under a new agreement with Kalyani Group subsidiary Bharat Forge Ltd.

Paramount and Kalyani already work together in a JV to market a version of the mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle in India, where it is known as the Kalyani M4.

‘It is intended that the Kalyani M4 will see service with the Indian Armed Forces in the very near future,’ Bharat Forge announced in a statement on 22 February during the IDEX defence and security exhibition in Abu Dhabi. However, no details were given of planned production volumes.

Earlier this month, unconfirmed reports from Indian defence media indicated that the Indian Army has already ordered 200 Kalyani M4s.

In 2020 the Mbombe 4/Kalyani M4 completed rigorous trials near Ladakh in India, where it was joined by the Maverick APC from Paramount and the Werewolf mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicle from Namibia-based Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik.

The United Arab Emirates is the launch customer for Mbombe 4, having ordered four vehicles in 2019.

Veer-class corvette INS Pralaya K91 displays at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. The vessel participate in the NAVDEX 2021 and IDEX 2021 scheduled to take place from February 20 to February 25. The next bilateral naval between India and UAE exercise is being planned for this year. Besides, Indian Navy’s ships have been making regular port calls at UAE for promoting maritime cooperation.

INS Pralaya was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 18 December, 2002. The 56 m long ship, displacing about 477 T is capable of speeds in excess of 36 knots and is fitted with an impressive array of weapons and sensors.

INS Pralaya is powered by Combined gas turbine and gas turbine (COGAG) propulsion system including two Nikoyaev Type DR77 Gas Turbine and two Nikolayev Type DR76 Gas Turbines. She can reach a top speed of 30 knots (56 km/h).

The corvette is armed with eight Uran surface-to-surface missile, four Strela-3M SAM, 76/62 OTO-Melara Compact SR and 30/54 AK-630M which is a Soviet and Russian fully automatic naval close-in weapon system based on a six-barreled 30 mm rotary cannon. In "630", "6" means 6 barrels and "30" means 30 mm. It is mounted in an enclosed automatic turret and directed by MR-123 radar and television detection and tracking. The system's primary purpose is defense against anti-ship missiles and other precision guided weapons. However it can also be employed against fixed or rotary wing aircraft, ships and other small craft, coastal targets, and floating mines. Once operational, this weapon system was rapidly adopted, with up to 8 units installed in every new Soviet warship (from mine-hunters to aircraft carriers), and hundreds produced in total.

IDEX 2021: Edge unveils long-range anti-ship missile

The United Arab Emirate’s (UAE’s) Edge group unveiled the HAS-250 anti-ship missile as a ground-launched system developed by its Halcon guided weapons division at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2021 show held in Abu Dhabi from 21–25 February.

“The HAS-250 is a UAE-designed and developed surface-to-surface missile capable of travelling at speeds of up to 0.8 Mach, with a range of over 250 km,” Edge said in a press release. “During its terminal phase, it can fly towards its target at a sea-skimming altitude of below 5 m.”

It said it uses a combination of GNSS and INS mid-course guidance systems and has an active/passive radar seeker for the terminal phase. A video released by Edge said the missile uses the HS-350 turbojet engine and has an anti-jamming system. It also showed it has a solid-propellant booster that drops off after launch.

A launcher on an Iveco Astra truck with two missile canisters was displayed at the show.

“The HAS-250 is a significant advancement in our quest to equip naval forces with the highest performing cruise missile system,” Halcon CEO Saeed Al-Mansoori was quoted as saying.

He suggested the HAS-250 is being developed for the UAE Naval Forces, saying “this weapon will assist in the active defence of the UAE’s waterways”.

But if the UAE manages to make this missile work, they will be able to produce so many of them that they'll destroy every infrastructure on the coast between the island of Lavan and beyond Jask.
