President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky says that NATO membership is Ukraine's strategic course, and this is provided for by the country's National Security Strategy approved on September 14.

"Every time I meet with international leaders, I emphasize that the war in eastern Ukraine is a threat not only for Ukraine, it is a threat to the security and stability of all countries in Europe and the world. Our partners are absolutely in solidarity with me on this issue, which is why we united to overcome existing challenges and find mechanisms for an adequate response to them. One of these is Ukraine's integration into NATO. At the beginning of the week, I approved the National Security Strategy of Ukraine, according to which NATO membership is Ukraine's strategic course," he said during the opening of the 2020 Rapid Trident multinational exercises in Lviv region on Thursday.

Zelensky said that it is necessary to achieve compatibility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the corresponding structures of NATO member states as quickly as possible. "And also to intensify reforms that will allow receiving an invitation and joining the NATO Membership Action Plan," he said.

In his opinion, the 2020 Rapid Trident exercise is not only another stage in the improvement of military skills, but also an important step on the path of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration.

"These important exercises will improve the operational capabilities of our troops, improve the level of compatibility between the units and headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the United States and other NATO members and partners," the president said.

Zelensky thanked all the participants in the exercises and Ukraine's international partners for their continued support to contain Russian aggression and help to strengthen the combat capability of the Ukrainian army.

To be honest I am not sure if Ukraine would get the solidarity it needs from NATO. I mean full economic sanction on Russia was needed after the Crim-move, but Europe has been stepdancing to try to avoid any such move. Trump getting elected resulted in another round of stepdancing.

So the united front needed against Russia disappeared, which is why they're expanding their footprints in ME, Africa and such.

So the best Ukraine can do is get the alliance they need and arm up and dig in, and they know that Turkey can be relied upon even if Russia and US now seem to accept YPG in Syria. But this is definitely a move to pressure Turkey, so in return we must support Ukraine and arm her to deal with the Russian problem, while we clean up in our neighborhood.

Once Libya reaches peace (insallah) and the reconciliation starts, and we mend ties with Egypt. Libya can seriously start moving towards rebuilding. Alleviating our front there.

I can see Ukraine and Georgia becoming Nato members in the future along with Bosnia.

Bosnia would have been part of Nato of it wasnt for the serbs.

Izetbegovics biggest mistake was not deporting the serbs in Bosnia back to serbia or which ever cave they came from. Majority of Bosnians both Bosniak and Croat support going into Nato while the Serbs oppose it. Remember this the serbs of Bosnia work for Serbia and Russia.

Europe is the problem especially Germany, the 'motor'of the EU is economicly dependent(Nordstream, trade) on Russia,France is not far behind,it has important economic ties and a significant and powerfull Russian diaspora(old Russian elite).
With these two 'blocking' any real sanctions,it is impossible to do anything against Russia.
If Biden gets elected things will change, only then.

If Ukraine doesnt get into NATO it wont have chance,no matter how much it arms up.
It will probably lose the eastern region currently held by the separatists.
The move to pressure us already happened(Greece,Cyprus,Syria,YPG/PKK,Iraq),they ganged up on us.
If you have noticed, the PKK is active again in our country, the YPG active again in Turkish held territory in Syria.
Watch Libya, something will happen soon,Greece will stay stubborn,no deal.
Many more unexplainable events will occur.

Yeah, wishful thinking but i hope im wrong.
