It was 50 KT though consider that the original design was to make the bomb 100 KT but Soviet Scientists were affraid about unknown affects a bomb of such a scale would have on earth Athmosphere so it was scaled down to ''only'' half of the original design.

Yep 50 MT.....but yes they scaled it down like you said....though I think the primary consideration was to allow any kind of aircraft (capable of delivering such a bomb + parachute) to have enough time to escape the blast radius.

50 MT vs 100 MT I think we already having same overall scale of effect on atmosphere if any....but sure makes it psy-ops somewhat to scale it down by half.
