Twitter has removed posts critical of the Indian government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic after an “emergency order” from the government. #IndiaCovid

@Nilgiri I hope this meets the guidlines as Twitter removed posts critical of the government in what is naked censorship. And the source is TRT so rather appropriate to the forum.

And before anybody decides to redact, change or alter the title please do let me know with reasons as the title conveys the contents of the report. Note more sources will be posted thus the title is generic to the events rather than fed by any particular media house.

More example of censorship in India. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra State has said "anybody who Tweets about lack of oxygen in the state their properties will be confiscated". Interesting. Go to 1:35.

It was all over the news channels(CNN,Euronews,al Jazeeri).
I guess the Indian government tries to avoid unrest.

The govt has been amply criticized for its actions as it should be.

It is not a new thing by any stretch, almost every govt where these foreign media houses (in the west) are located have done the same thing w.r.t "twitter rules" as they apply to collective defamation and so on.

US media houses themselves still (self-suppress) the Andrew Cuomo NY residential homes story as just one example (while having aggrandized the situation in other states on political basis), so they are not a paragon of free speech themselves.

In any case it all compares and contrasts quite well with the stark nature of the whole argument in the source country of the contagion. Give me a ring when twitter is even allowed there to begin with.

Fair play to the Indian government. My issue and point is all states given circumstances will take extenuating actions. It all depends on circumstances and we should not go around touting about this and that. The reality is even USA shut down Trump's tweets.

Freedom of speech is a luxury and the moment it comes under stress states begin compromising it. Thus we all should bear this in mind next time a country takes some action.

True freedom of speech is just a mirage. I live in UK but as I matured I now see everything is controlled. Nothing is really free. BBC represents a certain consensus of British elite class. Each media house is just a splinter mouthpiece of that one elite class. They may have differances but ultimately all play in the same orchestra.

For instances all will indulge in what might be called Islamaphobia but will dare not write anything that might be construed as homophobic, sexist, antisemitic etc. As you know in some countries you can burn the pages of Quran and call the prophet a pedophile but try saying only 1 million Jews died as opposed to 6 million and see what will happen.

And as you know now another group is being annointated. The Armenians.

Ps. I am aware that the Turks get a bad wrap in the West. Havin been to Turkey I can say Istanbul is better than Rome on every measure. I go by what I have seen and observed and not what media says or statistics from some think tank with a agenda. Sometimes the media makes Turkey sound like a Saudia Arabia and Erdogan a Turkish Bin Laden.

I would also suggest to you Pakistan also gets a bad wrap on the media. We are the favourite scapegoats in the Anglo speaking world. The media often paints us a a Asian variant of Somalia.

Whether she slept with him or not - non of that has any substance or relevance. The import here is the FACT that the Chief Minister is trying censor freedom of speech by threatening to confiscate peoples properties if they go against the state's narrative.

Believe me, he will not even touch her by stick they are super upper cast Marathi Brahmins, freedom of speech has limits too ( remember cartoon episode).
But you know they ( Rana types ) are vulture journalists now feasting on the misery of people and dead bodies.

They do people are spreading rumors and breaching the private lives , people lost loved ones these journalists are using their misery for their own propaganda and tell me one thing what you think posting the cartoon of your prophet is freedom of speech or not?

Regarding these vulture journalists let me remind you after 9/11 no journalist ever publish the burial pictures, US media has never shown people falling from buildings.

Yes these are desperate time and in India, no public has complained about these vultures freedom of speech who are waiting for the death of masses since 25th Jan.

And even the dead deserves some basic dignity

Let me tell you one thing about a lot of journalists/media (and all who do the tragedy porn reel).

They are vapid soulless people that feed on misery of others....just so they can pontificate and virtue signal w.r.t others in their elitist bubbles that may or may not see eye to eye with them on whatever elitist talking point. Actual grounded news with some decency and professionalism gets thrown out the window.

This phenomenon is not restricted to one country (of those that have the breadth for it)....you will find these types everywhere....and they make little to no distinction where its happening. I seen a bunch of it in north america + europe too when SHTF in 2020.

Generally I am more concerned when they dont do the expected behaviour on something of this nature, because then you know theres another force thats paying/controlling them not to (raises a red flag basically if you know what to look out for). It has gotten to that level.

We have to bear this consequence, all extremes come packaged with the overall system you choose (and extremes inevitably embolden themselves with time if given the funding and cues for it). Thus the larger public resilience is the final mettle of dissonant impact (from media) and long term consequence (if any) on them...i.e actual bulk numbers of the population that they are (inevitably) disconnected from.

There are particular good ones among the fray that build up trust in what they report and analyse....but one must be selective (and have reasoned critical thinking ability to begin with).

Out of the few dozen coastal elites I have talked with this year at some length, not one could tell me even one of the names of the 5 or so notable jounalists fired or retired (for being a little too "contrarian" to the new narratives being grown) at just the NYT in 2019/2020. They just want the same reel, the details do not matter....and so the cycle just repeats itself.

Lesson here is to understand why US coastal elitists (and all variants of this worldwide propped up by extreme globalist pox) are the way they are....and be as counter to that as possible, especially for (worthy) people you are in position to set an example for and influence....or say debate at any length.

And you missed one point in your really awesome paragraph, the same vultures who are complaining about freedom of speech, were the ones doing propaganda against vaccination.
