Btw, turns out we did not receive the promised 50m Sinovacs from China because of the criticism of the Uighur issue by the opposition. In case you were wondering why the vaccination program is stalling.

Now Sputnik V and Russia seem like the only help.

Biontech will deliver an additional 30m shots in June only.

Our national pharmaceutical industry should be the main source for our national use. Other options should be no more than a temporary remedy. Turns out that more than two shots will be required for a lasting effect. Even a prescription of a two shots a year until the pandemic ends will be required which will mean several hundred million doses will be used. O good time for our pharmaceutical industry to rise and shine.

Ugur sahin was interested in selling biontech since beginning,even offered to deliver earlier before than waiting the delivery queue.
But, no middleman = no purchase.
There are scavengers trying to make profits by being a middleman.

All of the news I heard for ready date are for September or October of 2021 or even earlier.
Vaccines can be approved for immediate use even. I think we will put vaccines in use as early as it gets.
However availability in large quantities may indicate later dates.

News? Yes, yes. I don't believe this "news". IMO even if everything goes as planned, large scale production cannot start before February-March 2022. They tell unrealistic dates because they think they have to pump hope to people. I hope the foreign vaccines will arrive on time. Otherwise, our economy go belly up!

Thats true. But producing enough vaccines to vaccinate large human populations is another matter. This is not something that can happen in a short time. Take the Russians for example: They have developed the vaccine, but they cannot produce as many as they want.

What sad times we live in. Last time I went through Istanbul twice. In June 2020 and August 2020. Both times the gigantic new airport presented a deserted look. Outside row after row of parked Turkish Airlines. It looked like a scene out of those apolocalpytic movies where the world has come to a end. This coronavirus has literaly wiped out two years of our lives.

I then went to Heraklion , Crete but because the airport is small the impact was not so visible.

Seems Turkey has received license to produce Sinovac.

Finally the government has done the right thing and agreed to buy 120m doses of Biontech, which will arive till autumn. 30m alone in June.

How did they ever think that China was going to be a wise choice.
We have lost so many months and the tourist season is now seriously in danger.


Biontech seems to have agreed to start manufacturing, R&D and studies in Turkey. mRNA will be the future of lots of medications and biontech is one of the leading companies in this field.
