Rhm APS is good, but still its passively faced at one side only.

Even KMW choose Tropy APS to be installed at newest Leopard A7+ due to its fully active and high angle of coverage.

Imho, Such Pulat or Zaslon didn't give much prevention againts Kinetics Energy Penetrator

Everything has to start from something . Rather than spend thousand hours of research and wasted lot of $$ . Turkey take the pragmatic approaches and find a technological mature JV partnership in the hand of desperate Ukranian . And boy .... I wished our leaders has the turkish sensibility too . Without the Ukranian greeds the mainland would take at least 2 more decades of desperate efforts and massive of $$$ to go where they stand today in the military techs achievement .

aach thanks. So its work by shooting out shrapnel. It's seem the Rheinmetall APS still remain the most advance (based from their operating principle)
In fact, Akkor, which was developed for Altay, is the most advanced in terms of the way it works, but it is impossible for Indonesia to pay for such a light tank.

The door of Joint Venture is always open and always give a benefit to make a huge leap of technology.
Not to mention, both Medium Tank, and Fighter program can give a huge leap in tech leap and mastery.

Ironically, Although the human resources considerably quallified and adequate to master such new tech leap, the bureocrat, and rule maker have little to none commitmend to do such long time Joint Venture programm.

Looks like AD aiming for the Blackhawk, they still have the pending budget for 5 Mi which hasnt been execute, maybe they (kemhan) willing to realocate those Mi budget with some additional extra budget for Blackhawk? We'll see...

Considering that the US Army operate a huge number of Black Hawks. If we want to save money for something else, we probably can get plenty of US Army second hand units. They want to bring the next gen vertical lift helo by 2030.

Btw, the US Army last order seems to be in 2014 where they signed a deal for 64 Black Hawk. Still relatively "not-old" stuff.

Im not a fans of used air-frame. The percentage of increase yearly budget of TNI wont be able to support rather "costly" used stuff future maintenance, they are having a problem maintaining the current assets as for now. Not to mention the possibility of budget cut from govt. This is where I like purchasing brand new US air frame products both rotary or jet, they can be attached with service contract agreemant via DCS (Direct Commercial Sales) that will surely secure future maintenance cost. But surely this kinda of thing will make some oknum melotot lapaknya diserobot 😁

You can just look at how PT PINDAD doing selection for their in house CIWS, tonnes of foreign product with small number and till now there is no end

If it is up to me as decision maker, i am prefer to use PT RESPATI solution and Made them as one of local supplier of RCWS for PT PINDAD and asking for batches of product while doing research for more better products along with end user input. The other thing is to strife for automation production line facilities for munition divition, firearm Division and special vehicles Division. There is lot of thing they can do with automation production line, including taking jobs from civillian market

Btw the more bigger Indonesian stature (economy and military ambition) the more our human resource pool actually hinder us to progressing more. The guy who Made opinion about Maestrale class on media is actually fine example of even the user top Brass got idea about "modernization", no wonder our jargon about world class armed Forces is mostly a fart since long time.

Put defense SOEs for IPO. Once they are go to the stock market, transparency is something needed, if not investors will not buy their stocks.

Hear ...hear .... I feel you there . I feel you . But what we could do ?? Our Defence sectors are too plagued by ticks , mices and cockroach even till today . When an enemy was literally allready in front of our door step .... Sigh .

And again @Mado beat me to a punch .

Just rid the people that resist that.
Did jokowi has that massive balls today ?? I don't think so .... Compounds that with his lack of depth in the arms procurement matters it's a small wonder why he get tricked/hoodwinked all the time by even his most trusted branch procurement office .... even Bakamla dare too hoodwinked him too . It's kind of ironic to think the Army procurement process were the cleanest today ... 😁😁
@Madokafc i know you have some more in depth knowledge about that hush-hush ....

It really goes full cycle, the incompetence of domestic industry combined with the incompetence with those drafting the requirements combined with "ganti pejabat ganti kebijakan" thingy combined with sales driven planning. Perhaps we need to consider applying stoning as the penalty of those involved wkwkwkwk

While they won't be able to deflect KE penetrator completely off target, but depending on the detection accuracy and reaction time, these systems might still be able to disrupt the penetrator's flight path slightly - just enough to make the penetrator lose its optimum impact angle.

What I don't like about these systems is the protruding "snoot" which may affect the mobility of the vehicles they installed on in the tight spaces.

I more toward to more professional management rather than harsher deterrent effects (harsher punishment). Put big cap companies standard to the government.

Hand chopped punishment and that really start to sound more and more tempting in these trying times .
