Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday urged Bangladesh Army personnel to concentrate on attaining the highest level of professional skills and excellence, keeping pace with the changing world security system.
“I believe Bangladesh Army, as in the past, will remain ever ready to tackle any disaster alongside protecting the country’s sovereignty,” she said.
The premier made the remarks at the induction of the Tiger Multiple Launch Rocket Missile System (MLRS) to Bangladesh Army’s 51 MLRS Regiment in Savar Cantonment, joining the ceremony virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.
Mentioning that the Tiger MLRS could strike multiple targets accurately and effectively at long range and in less time than other artillery systems, she hoped it add a new dimension to strengthen Bangladesh Army’s existing operational efficiency.
“I believe this modern system (MLRS) will strengthen Bangladesh Army as well as increase mental strength and confidence of army personnel,” Sheikh Hasina said.
Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed addressed the ceremony in person.
A presentation on the Tiger MLRS was also screened.
