TRG-230 and TRG-300 KAPLAN Missile Systems developed by ROKETSAN continue to be delivered to the Bangladesh Army. The delivery of the aforementioned missile systems to the Bangladesh army will be carried out by ROKETSAN in 4 groups. The TRG-300 KAPLAN Missile System with a range of 120 km was delivered to the Artillery Regiment of the Bangladesh Army in the first batch of deliveries.

TRG-230 missile systems were included in the second batch of deliveries by ROKETSAN to the Bangladesh Army. The delivery in question took place in September 2021.

Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed returned to Dhaka today from his visit to South Korea, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in press statement.

During his visit, General Shafiuddin made a courtesy call on Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Army General Nam Yeong-shin on October 19. They discussed possibilities to take the existing relations between the armed forces of the two countries further.

The army chief later attended two military exercises titled 'Army Tiger 4.0' and 'Warriors' Platform', and different stalls at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition (ADEX)-2021.

General Shafiuddin also met and exchanged views with South Korea's Minister of National Defence Suh Wook, Army Chief General Nam Yeong-shin, Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces General Jaque Raul, and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces Oleg Leonidovich Salyukov, among others.

On October 20, General Shafiuddin attended an air show in honour of the President of South Korea Moon Jae-in at ADEX-2021and visited different stalls of military equipment at the exhibition.

He also attended a cultural tour organised by the South Korean tourism organisation on October 21 and visited different historical sites in Seoul. On the same day, he attended a dinner held at Bangla House in his honour and exchanged views with Ambassador of Bangladesh to South Korea Md Delwar Hossain.

The army chief's visit to the ADEX-2021 exhibition is expected to shed light on the enhancements necessary for the Bangladesh Army towards implementing its Forces' Goal 2030, the ISPR release added.

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has been adorned with the "Sixteenth Colonel of the Regiment" of East Bengal Regiment of the Bangladesh Army.

The traditional reception programme was held at Shahid MR Chowdhury parade ground of East Bengal Regimental Centre at Chattogram Cantonment Wednesday.

The senior superintendent of the Infantry Regiment and the senior master warrant officer adorned the army chief with the rank badge of "Colonel of the Regiment", said a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations(ISPR).

A smart contingent of armed guards gave a guard of honour to Gen Shafiuddin Ahmed on the occasion.

The army chief delivered an address at the function and then he placed floral wreath at a memorial monument constructed to the memory of martyred heroes of East Bengal regiment during the War of Independence.

Senior military officials of the Army Headquarters and local formations were also present at the event.

In his speech, the army chief said the heroic fighters of East Bengal Regiment set an example of patriotism by participating in the war of independence in 1971.

At the end of the ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff addressed the 34th Annual Commanders Conference of the East Bengal Regiment and gave directions on the development of the regiment, enhancement of professional skills and activities of the army at home and abroad.

President Abdul Hamid on Sunday visited the progress of construction works of 'Mithamain Cantonment’ in Kishoreganj.

On his arrival at the cantonment area in Mithamain upazila, Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed welcomed the head of the state, reports BSS.

Local lawmaker Rezwan Ahmmad Taufiq, secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban and local administration officials were also present.

The cantonment is being constructed at 275-acre of land.
