According to a press release published by Terma on June 28, 2021, the parties behind the Defense Agreement have decided to initiate a development project to pave the way for the acquisition of a number of new vessels for the Royal Danish Navy. It is this task that strong, Danish partners in the form of Odense Maritime Technology, Terma and PensionDanmark are ready to take on.

Based on a strong shipbuilding tradition and the strong competencies of the Danish maritime industry, the partners will offer the full-range delivery of the new ship class including the design, build, equipping and delivery in close collaboration with the Danish Defence.
With a full-range delivery, the partners guarantee that the new naval vessels are designed and built according to the needs of the Armed Forces, including innovative Danish technology solutions that can contribute to the green transformation of the Armed Forces. This will contribute to the further development of unique industrial competencies, and it has the potential for an export adventure to the benefit of the Danish business community and Danish workplaces.
Terma A/S is a Danish defense and aerospace manufacturer for both civilian and military applications and is owned by the Danish company Thrige Holding A/S. It is Denmark's largest company within the aerospace and defense industry, employing approximately 1,100 people worldwide.
OMT was established in 2010 as a carve-out from the A.P. Møller Maersk shipyard in Denmark – Odense Steel shipyard. Together with the sister company Valcon, the premium operations consulting firm in Europe, we strive to deliver maritime footprints in the countries we operate in.
Odense Steel shipyard and Terma worked together to build the third frigate of the Iver Huitfeldt class in 2011. Terma has provided the frigates with its comprehensive command & control system C-Flex and with its SCANTER 6000 radar.
