Fortunately, many new systems have already showing trend of moving toward 10 years old chipset. The move seem to correlate with the advancement of ARM architecture and further incentives by the rising cost of procuring 20 -30 years old chipset that no longer being manufactured en masse (this kind of "crisis"s actually recently happen less than 6 months ago with the Global Chipset Crisis).

Another good example of military usage of out of date consumer electronic was USAAF use of Sony Playstation 3 as a Supercomputer Cluster. When Sony drop support for Playstation 3 the USAAF end up "forcing" Sony to continue support for their version of Playstation 3 which rise the overall life cycle cost

As was the case for the first frigate, some electronic countermeasures systems (EW suite’s jammers, NETTUNO-4100 RECM system and Thales Altesse CESM equipment) and some communication aerials have been disembarked. Apart from that, no major change is visible compared to the original FREMM design.

Length and displacement aren't much different than conventional Bergamini class but still retaining its 127 mm cannon! How they accomplished so much without sacrificing anything?

Hell yea!! I hope we could get those NETTUNO-4100 RECM system and Thales Altesse CESM. Missiles can be tailored to suit the operational need but defense machanism relatively the same across todays threat spectrum. All of our 90M+ navy warship should have somekind EW defence suite, not just chaff n flares. Pls excuse my wishful thinking

But this frigate would be General Purpose Vrygat, probably the missile(type and quantity) will be below the IH (that's if we also choose IH) and could be 16 VLS. French and Italian only have 16 VLS except for the French AAW variant that have 32 VLS.

EW and crypto are the most well guarded secret of any developed country military & defence establishment. Thus, it is not one would willingly transfer without having any previously solid trustworthy reputation

Although MoD official crew work in shadow and quite agile it will be "kandas" if the boat different from fthe picture above not to mention first payment and keel lying not yet complete.
