These are just the cities not the villages which were backwards for example in Iraq and Egypt they show how some cities were beautiful and clean but in fact these cities were inhabited by foreigners mostly the rest of Egypt was still undeveloped.

Sorry but we should not support warlords. We go off at countries supporting Haftar the Warlord of Libya while at the same time why should we support warlords in Afghanistan which are just as bad as the Taliban.
Dont forget how the Taliban were formed they were formed due to the warlords being a bunch of rapists.
I doubt it. You are out now and China, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and Iran are in. This is not the Taliban of the 80s and 90s. The Taliban have relations and contacts with all neighboring countries. Did you really think you were fighting the Taliban? LOL The US has admitted that China and Russia have been supporting the Taliban. The Taliban are just foot soldiers. US/NATO has been fighting regional countries who don't want US/NATO presence in their backyard. That is the full story.
Trust me. You are not coming back. The major powers Russia and China will make sure of that.

Taliban are not anti-Turkish at all. The truth is that a minority has been put in charge in Afghanistan. The majority Pashtun has been alienated by US/NATO.
The US/NATO thought it could impose its will on the majority. It doesn't work like that. We also need to remember that not so long ago the Taliban were actually an ally of Western nations.
We know how this rigged game works. Support and befriend until your interests are met. Dump and kill when not needed anymore. That policy is not going to work anymore.

This is a wrong perception my friend. The average Afghanis were always backward. The people in your picture are the elite, which probably every country in the world has.

I agree and at no point did I suggest that those pictures were the norm. However in every society it is the elite that sets the tempo. The direction. The aspiration. If you look at Turkey 1900s Ataturk and his Young Turks were not the normative and certainly not dressed or think or live like your average Anatolian farmer. However that elite over time can reform society. In 1970s the fact was Kabul government was a Marxist regime set on turning Afghanistan into another clone of Soviet Union. Had those reforms gone through and with might of Soviet Union and economic support of entire Warsaw Pact countries Afghan society could have been reformed, consolidated by 2000.
"Soon after coming into power, the PDPA regime initiated a drastic reform package. It included social, economic and education reforms. Kuldeep Nayar writes in Report on Afghanistan that the new regime started teaching Darwinism in schools and colleges. A Russian scholar had warned the revolutionaries that the reforms they wanted to implement in five years might take Soviet Union 25 years. Frédéric Grare writes in his book that changing the flag of Afghanistan was their big mistake. Their land reforms were also criticised by the clergy. Tarakai was painted in dark colours.
The clergy-landlord alliance rose up with petro dollars pouring in from the West and its allies including Pakistan, much to the dismay and chagrin of Afghan and Soviet leaders. The PDPA leaders had failed to learn from history. The conservative class in Afghanistan had opposed King Amanullah Khan’s reforms in the same way. Like the Great Game, the Cold War was now to be fought out on Afghan soil. Russophobia had led the British Empire to attack Afghanistan twice in the 19th century.
The PDPA, an advocate of equal rights for women, declared the equality of the sexes.[22] The PDPA made a number of statements on women's rights, declaring equality of the sexes and introduced women to political life. A prominent example was Anahita Ratebzad, who was a major Marxist-Leninist leader and a member of the Revolutionary Council. Ratebzad wrote the famous May 28, 1978 New Kabul Times editorial, which declared: "Privileges which women, by right, must have are equal education, job security, health services, and free time to rear a healthy generation for building the future of the country ... Educating and enlightening women is now the subject of close government attention."[23] Women were already guaranteed freedoms under the 1964 Constitution, but the PDPA went further by declaring full equality."
As these reforms began to bite Afghan tradional society rebelled who insisted on remaining in the stone age. In this conflict between modernism [even if with Marxist recipe] and primitivsm sadly and with benefit of hindsight Pakistan was drawn into a American project to support primitivism in order to give Soviets a bloody nose.
That effort gave rise to Mujihadeen and their successors the Taliban. Not many know but the original manuals on instructing jihadis were prepared by University of Nebraska in USA under contract of CIA. Then they were printed in Pakistan.
