Very interesting claim indeed! it is almost common knowledge that unlike F 35, F 22 is build around its internal bays, the very existance of side bays on F 22 is because they didnt want to waste the valuabe space of the main internal bay with WVR and side bays are their engeniring solution for WVR.... KAAN will have WVR this is a fact and as stated Bozdoğan has its advantages but weight and dimensions are the cons in some ways. Million dollar question is if you already need relativly bigger space with relativly big weight capacity for bozdağan would you build your side bays even bigger to accommodate your future missiles like Gokhan I speculate at certain point some may think about it but I still think side bays will be kept for WVR Bozdağan since the limitations and math dictated by internal bays is there for Kaan just like F 22 but sure open to nice intersting suprises since Kaan is unipue :devilish:
what happened to the Gokhan, Bozdağan, and Gökdoğan missiles anyway?

Last I heard of the Gokhan, it completed some sort of test back in 2021.

The missiles are ready, but Aesa radar is not finished yet. We can't use these missiles without Aesa radar. It will first be used on the F16 Özgür.

Do you mean that all of them or just Bozdağan, and Gökdoğan?

If an Aesa radar is needed, then how did they test them? also didn't Turkey buy A2A missiles from the US then with the new F-16s?

It's not "needed" but a more advanced radar will be able to use its full potential

Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan are in the LRIP phase and are in active production with several dozen orders.
Gökhan is in the prototype phase and the target date for LRIP is 2026. I think Gökhan will be publicized in 2025. Note that after the replacement of the Tubitak SAGE director now the veil of secrecy is thicker on the Tubitak SAGE projects.

Lovely plane
Whenever I look at it from the back, Iam reminded of an SU-35/57
Whenever I look at it from the front, Iam reminded of a F-22
Whenever I look at it from above, Iam reminded of an F-15

KAAN's design is so beautiful that they managed to mix 3-4 planes into 1

+ when viewed from the inside it is like a F35. We have a culture that bridges the East and the West, and it is nice to see this in design. Totally suits us.

Guys, we have a dedicated F-35 thread and it's not even low in the feed. Please take the issue of F-35 to the relevant thread and keep the KAAN thread clean.

Thank you!

The painting seems so amazing but I'm curious that why do they not paint the inside the both intake? They are so white.

From the article of TEI Chairman Fahrettin Öztürk.

For the first time, an official mentions that KAAN (with indigenous engines) will have TVC capability.

Some individuals tend to underestimate the span of 10 years and dismiss the potential for Turkey to develop its own 5th generation fighter. It's quite revealing how some equate China's lack of innovation and Russia's challenges with technology to Turkey's ambitious goals and advanced engineering capabilities, showcasing their biases and limited perspectives.

I'm confident that we'll witness the emergence of a flying TF prototype by 2026. Even if it takes flight by 2030, the endeavor remains highly valuable and worthwhile.

The design of a promising multi-role fighter to replace the Su-27 and MiG-31 began in the USSR in the late 1970s. On July 5, 1981, a resolution was issued by the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR on the deployment of a Targeted Comprehensive Program for the creation of such fighters.

In the late 1990s, the Sukhoi Design Bureau won a competition to create a promising fifth-generation front-line aviation complex (PAK FA) for the Russian Air Force. The project of the aircraft, designated T-50, has been developed since 1999. The preliminary design was ready by the fall of 2004.
The first flight prototype of the T-50 took off on January 29, 2010. To date, only 16 flying copies have been manufactured.
Even after 20 years of development and 15 years after its first flight, the Su57 is still not a 5th generation fighter. They fly with the old AL 41 F1 engine, developed on the basis of the AL31F engine, created back in 1984 in the USSR.
Russian officials once again promise that the new engine for the Su57 will be ready by 2028.
By 2028, 10 to 20 KAAN will be manufactured. Then the domestic engine must be ready for this.
I have been following the development of both fighters from the very beginning, and, in my opinion, the Russians will simply stop production of the SU57, as happened with their “new generation” tank, the Armata. The Russians have apparently abandoned the Su57 and are already announcing that they are developing a sixth-generation fighter. This is another Russian folk tale.
Let me remind you that the first production Su57 fell and crashed during its first flight in 2019.
When entire squadrons of KAAN appear in the sky, the Russians on the ground in their worthless SU will look at them with envy:LOL:
